More and more models are bagging coveted roles in Tollywood. Among the latest to join this league is Tanya. She's making her debut as the lead in Dongala Bandi opposite Allari Naresh. This Mumbai-based model had done a commercial ad with Madhavan. "I am really on a high.

I am going to act with more than 25 comedians in this film. What more can a debutant ask for?" she says. When we asked her on why she chose to make her debut with a Telugu film, she says, "Telugu films are colourful and full of dreams, and Tollywood welcomes newcomers with open arms."

Kulesan audio rights sold for record price

The mere name of superstar Rajinikanth sells. The audio rights of Kuselan, has been snapped by Big Music, an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group company for a new record high of Rs 2.25 crore! Remember Rajini is only making a special appearance in the film. The film has music by G V Prakash.

According to industry sources, the huge price is only because of the magic of Rajinikanth and nothing else. Umesh Pai of Big Music says, "Kuselan has five songs, with a Daler Mehendi number being the highlight. The others who have rendered their voice for the album include Shankar Mahadevan, Kailash Kher, Shriya Ghosal and Hariharan." The audio is likely to be launched on June 30 in Chennai.

Director Shankar searching for never seen locations

The team of Robot are on the biggest ever location hunt, which will take them to exotic locations of Vienna, Rio de Janeiro, Hawaii and some never seen before locations in Vietnam.

Director Shankar and Cameraman Rathnavel will tour this locations and decide on the locations for the shoot depending on the script, accessibility and weather conditions in the locations. As with the general shooting in any Shankar movie the song in the exotic location with the hero and heroine will be filmed first and then the other portions of the movie will be canned.

The shoot of the movie is expected to start sometime in August. With his part of Kucheludu shooting complete, Rajinikanth is ready to start with the next movie Robot. Robot will star Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles.

Hansika Motwani is now acting in the film 'Money Hai Toh Honey Hai'. She was shot in a swimsuit scene for that movie freshly. The scene is being used in the promo of the film. The fresh beauty is now revealing her tender assets for camera.

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya has shot the scene exclusively on Hansika in a pool showing her in swimsuit. But Hansika is afraid of that and said that she was shot only for promo but will not appear in that dress in film. She said that one cannot dip into swimming pool with sari. Producer Aswini Dutt has confirmed the title of his film with Rajini Kanth. The film was considered to be titled as Kucheludu earlier, but the title of the film is changed to Kathanayakudu now. It was confirmed by by Aswini Dutt today,16th june in press meet held at his office in Hyderabad.

Rajini Kanth and Jagapathi Babu are in lead roles , P Vasu is directing the film. GV Prakash is the music director.

Abishek wants hrithik in sarkar 3

Will Sarkar 3 happen? At the moment, no one knows the answer to this, perhaps not even Ramgopal Verma. But the way Sarkar Raj finishes a sequel seems a distinct and perhaps inevitable possibility. So, with Abhishek out of the picture, leaving Big B to do the job of political king maker once again, what would Sarkar3 be made of? S.J surya met with accident - Puli shooting postpone?

Actor-director S.J.Surya is now busy doing in the lead role in a Tamil movie ‘Newtonin 3am Vidhi’, directed by Thaimuthu Selvan. Its an action oriented movie.

S.J.Surya serious injuries while shooting a stunt sequence for the movie ‘Newtonin 3am Vidhi’ near Chennai on Saturday. He was admitted to a private hospital with bleeding injuries.

Shooting for the Newtonin 3am Vidhi was taken near Velacherry, Chennai. According to the scene S.J.Surya will be chased by villains. S.J.Suryah was riding a bike while villains sit in few cars, jeeps and trucks. Un-expectedly, one of the vehicle hit the bike of Surya and Surya was thrown in the air. S.J.Suryah fall down flat on the floor causing injuries to his face.

S.J.Suryah was immediately rushed to a private hospital nearby. Doctors advised 15 days of rest for him. The shooting was eventually called off.So even the shooting of pawan's puli which is expected to go to sets on 20th of this month may get postpone due to serious injury for surya.Hope he will recover soon.Get well soon surya..

Dil raju to introduce Nagachaitanya

The most successful producer Dil Raju succeeded in convincing the Tollywood bigwigs like ANR and Dr Ramanaidu to launch their grand son Naga Chaithanya to Tollywood as hero. The Akkineni family and Dr Ramanaidu family has tremendous confidence on Dil Raju and Dil Raju's track record also proved several times at the box office.

Though the debutant director Vasu Sharma name was heard, it isn't confirmed. But an young debutant director will handle Naga Chaithanya.

NTR memorial trust, which is being headed by Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu, has been selected by the government for the award for highest number of blood donations.

Normally, whenever we talk about blood donations, the name that comes to our mind immediately is Chiranjeevi Blood Bank. But the government did not consider it. Instead, it preferred NTR Memorial Trust for the award. It would be presented to the Trust by Governor Rameshwar Thakur, shortly.

Though everybody talks about Chiranjeevi charitable trust, large number of Telugu Desam workers donate blood through NTR Trust every year on every occasion: Birth and death anniversaries of NTR, as well as on the birthday of Chandrababu Naidu. So, no wonder the NTR Trust got the award.

There is also another talk. Perhaps, the ruling Congress does not want Chiranjeevi's name getting fame before he launches the new party. So, it could be underplayed!

Dasavatharam got average openings in mumbai and delhi

The six-screen Mayajaal multiplex in Chennai is holding 45 shows a day of Kamal Hassan’s magnum opus Dasavatharam. Touted to be the most expensive film ever made in India, with a budget crossing Rs 75 crore according to estimates, it’s running to full houses in all the four southern states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.

Leaving no stone unturned to ensure a grand opening, producer Oscar Ravichandran released 1,000 prints in India and 1,000 overseas. “The first two weeks are crucial for box-office collections and that’s the reason why so many prints have been released,” says Nambi Rajan, distributor of Dasavatharam in north and west India.

“The opening has been tremendous — 100% occupancy in cinema halls — in the south. What will help the movie is the fact that there are no big Tamil or Telugu releases in the next four weeks,” adds Rajan. However, the film, which has been released in Tamil and Telugu and with English subtitles, has done “below expectations” in Mumbai and Delhi.

Says PVR general manager Ranjan Singh, “The opening has been great in Bangalore and Hyderabad but average in Mumbai and Delhi. The rains in Mumbai may have been a damper.” An Adlabs spokesperson says the film is getting an amazing response from towns like Coimbatore as well.

The “lower turnout” in Mumbai and Delhi has obviously drawn comparisons with Rajnikanth’s Sivaji, the Boss, which grossed Rs 100 crore at the box-office last year. Says an insider: “Rajni is a mass entertainer and Kamal a class entertainer. People would have braved the rains for a Rajni film.”

So, what are the box-office expectations for Dasavatharam? According to industry experts, it won’t disappoint exhibitors, one of the reasons being that a huge number of prints have been released and it will make up the money in the first four weeks.

Kamal Hassan plays 10 different roles in the film, from a priest to President Bush, and according to sources, the stunning special effects alone cost Rs 25 crore. “The films starts in the 12th century and ends with the tsunami.”

The girl with chubby cheeks, Hansika Motwani, made her debut into the Telugu film industry through ‘Desamuduru’ opposite Allu Arjun. After taking considerable gap, she played the female lead in ‘Kantri’ with NTR as hero. Now, according to sources in Film Nagar, she got a lifetime opportunity to play heroine to Power Star Pawan Kalyan in ‘Puli’. It is worth mentioning here that ‘Puli’ directed by SJ Surya and produced by Singanamala Ramesh on the banner of Kanakaratna Creations, is likely to start rolling from June 20.

The director and producer tried to rope in Priyanka Chopra or Kareena Kapoor in the female lead. However, they expressed their inability saying that they were busy with their Bollywood films. Finally, the opportunity knocked the doors of Hansika. The film will have music from AR Rehman while camera will be held by Vinod.

Neetu Chandra is roped in to do a police officer role in Rajasekhar's much-hyped film Satyameva Jayate. The actress was last seen in Sekhar Kammula's Godavari, followed by Hindi flick Traffic Signal of Madhur Bandarkar and one two three.

Infact she has done a police role in one two three. She also starred opposite Madhavan in a Tamil film. Jeevita directs the movie, which is a free adaptation of Bollywood's Khaki, with modifications done to suit Telugu nativity.

Actress took over 25 retakes to a shot

Vidya Balan had a tough time matching up with Shahid Kapoor while shooting a dance number for the promotional video of Kismet Konnection. It took more than 25 takes before one single dance step could be finalized. The sensuous number, choreographed by Ahmed Khan, required Vidya to pirouette in high heels, and she was clearly ill at ease. A source, who was present on the sets said, “Vidya took more than 25 takes to get her moves right.

She had never done such a dance number before. To top it all, she had to wear high heels.” Choreographer Ahmed jumped to Vidya's defense and said, “Even though she had a difficult time keeping up with a super-swift Shahid, she did not request me to change the steps. Besides, this is the first time that she was shooting a racy, western number.”

Another hero with 12 getups in one film

Kamal Hasan portrayed 10 getups in Dasavatharam. Now another Tamil hero Vikram is going to portray 12 get ups for the film of Manirathnam.

Aishwarya Roy is paired up opposite Vikaram for this film. The film is made in Hindi with Abhishek and Aish by the same Manirathnam.

Vikram is Mexico for the shoot of his current film Mallanna. He will join Mani as soon as he finishes Mallanna.

Ram charan teja third film director confirmed

Ramcharan tej who is working for Rajamouli's flick right now has confirmed his next film with director Bommarillu Bhaskar. Chatrapathi Prasad will be the producer. "I play Angel, a character which I have never done and remains one of my favourite characters. It has brought out my innate skills which you can see in my imitation of Rajnikant, Kamal Haasan, Pawan Kalyan, Raviteja and Sunil," she said.

While the film’s director Prabu Solomon chose to describe her role simply as a Lady Rajnikant.

"Charmme’s role has got different dimensions. She rides bike, imitates people in this bilingual. When it comes to the title, the count down starts when the hero and heroine meet and on the 16th day it culminates in the climax," said the director.

Chinni Prakash, who choreographed songs for films like Jodha Akbar, has choreographed a song in the film. "The song has been shot in a true Hollywood style. It has been picturised on Charmme and Russian cheergirls," explained the choreographer.

Currently shooting for an introductory song at Annapurna Seven acres the film is all about how she lives and perceptions. It tries to say: ‘Think positive and take life positive’.

Charmme has another reason to smile about because she has a romantic duet in the film. "So far I have not had a duet. All the songs were one sided. And this film has fulfilled my wish," she said.

Aravind, assistant to Maniratnam, makes his debut as a hero with the film. Dharan has scored the music. Cinematographer Sukumar, lyricist Bhaskarbhatla Ravi Kumar were among those present. Cosmos Entertainment is producing the film.

It has been a long wait for Kamal’s fans after Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu and the legend has not disappointed them. He has established emphatically that the wait is certainly a worthwhile one and has proved time and again that cinema is his lifeline.

The seventy crore magnum opus challenges Hollywood films and has even set up a benchmark for their films. Special kudos to producer Aascar Ravichandran for ably supporting the actor and the director in their pursuit of rendering a world class Tamil cinema - especially in the technical department.
The grandiose scenes spellbinds the viewer and the crew has worked hard to sustain this feeling through out the film. The film opens with the camera zooming on Chennai from the ocean and gently stops at Chozha era when Saivites and Vaishnavites locked horns with each other.

Performances:
Kamal’s performance, Ravi Varman’s cinematography, Devi Sri Prasad’s re-recording and Thanikachalan’s editing teleport the viewer to a different era which would take a long time for them to unravel, particularly the scene where the Saivite King orders the statue of Lord Ranganatha to be thrown into the sea and threatens the ardent Vaishnavite Kamal to utter Om Namashivaya just once. And when Kamal begins OM, the suspense is killing not only for the king but also the audience. Though the film begins with Chozha period, it subsequently moves to modern times, bringing with it adventure, high flying chases. etc

Kamal’s hard work and perseverance is palpable in every frame

and in the different getups that he has essayed. An angry Vaishnava young man from Chozha period, US President George Bush, mentally unstable old woman, a Japanese Karate master, Punjabi ghazal singer, a dalit man fighting for justice, an American terrorist out to kill people, an eight feet innocent Muslim, an astute scientist, a Telugu secret service man speaking Tamil in a weird fashion- a variety indeed!.Dasavatharam


Out of the ten Kamals, the dalit Boovaraghan stands out with his distinct style in dialogue delivery, eye movements and body language. Grandma Kamal is a reminder of Avvai Shanmugi while the secret service agent tries to tickle the funny bone in us, while in all the other Kamals, makeup alone can be talked about.

Asin as an Agraharam girl is a revelation and is almost on par with Kamal in performance. Mallika Sherawat has understood why she has been hired and accordingly does her part.
In the music department, the Tamil flavor is retained only in the Mukunda number while in the others, Himesh Reshammiah’s difficulty in unwrapping himself from Hindi clutches is discernible. K S Ravikumar’s directorial acumen is revealed in Ulaganayagane number where he has picturized Kamal’s make-up secrets.

Final Note:

Dasavatharam’s main forte is technical expertise, which the technicians have utilized without the viewer being aware of it. Top of the line technical excellence is perceptible in Tsunami scenes, car chasing shots, Chozha period sequences and the scene where all the Kamals come together. On the flipside, if the focus given to technical brilliance had been given to a stronger storyline and character portrayal, the film would have earned a perfect TEN.

All in all a colossal visual opulence at its peak for the first time in Indian cinema.

Maa TV news channel to support Megastar

MAA TV is really coming up innovative programs like Yuva, Bommarillu of Suhasini and Simran's marupurani Kathalu and many more interesting programs.

The entire credit goes to two persons- One is megastar and the other one is Hero Nagarjuna. Both these stars has major stake in the channel. They are pouting their efforts to make the channel on one of the top Telugu channel. they have already launched 24 hours music channel and applied for 24 hours News Channel.

The channel is likely to go air in couple of months, so that the channel could help Megastar's political entry. On the other hand, The Begampet office of maa TV is shifted to Jubilee Hills, very close to Megastar and Nag's residence. the new office is equipped with latest technical equipments.

Stars overhelming response for dasavatharam preview

The film Dasavatharam is releasing on 13th June, the film was premiered to some important persons on 12th June in Chennai. We can the first reactions of some of the personalities known to our Telugu industry-
