NTR and VV Vianayak's film will go on floors from 12th of August for regular shoot. Ileana is the heroine. Devi Sree Prasad is the music director. Kodali Nani is the producer.
The film is planned to complete the shoot by December and release for Sankranthi 2009.
Vinayak has the Sankranthi sentiment. His Lakshmi with Venki was released for sankranthi. His Krishna with Ravi teja and Trisha was released for last Sankranthi. Vinayak is hoping similar result with NTR's film for the next sankranthi.
On the other hand, NTR has some disappointed Sankranthi- his Naga was released on 10January 2003, and his Andhrawala was released on 1st of January 2004. Na alludu was also released during sankranthi. All this films are big disappointment for NTR.
Now NTR is purely depending on Vinayak's Sankranthi sentiment.

It seems South India's Next Best Thing Asin is determined to take her success-quotient to a high a level in Bollywood as it is in Tamil and Telugu cinema. No false moves no slipups for the stunning sensation from the South who is being touted as a blend of Hema Malini and Rekha.
Just recently, Asin gave the nod to three biggies with Aamir Khan (Ghajini), Salman Khan-Ajay Devgan (London Dreams) and last but certainly not the least, Akshay Kumar (Aise Ko Taisa). Now the news is, Asin is out of Priyadarshan's comedy with Akshay Kumar. Reason? According to her polite father, "There's a date clash with the promos of Ghajini."
However, the director Priyadarshan is more forthcoming. "The Akshay film is a three-heroine project. I don't think Asin would be comfortable with that. My producers Venus are looking into the matter of the heroines. We start shooting in November. So we've ample time to find the girls."
As far as Asin is concerned, the signal is loud and clear. This girl is here only to do author-backed central roles. No less.

Director P. Vasu speaks about the making of the much-hyped Rajnikant starrer Kuselan. S. R. Ashok Kumar listens in
Kollywood has seen it all. Films based on the protagonist’s fixation for a star doesn’t sound unusual. But Kuselan seems to make news everyday. Naturally, because the film star happens to be superstar Rajnikant and the film maker is none other than P. Vasu, the man who gave Kollywood’s mega hit in recent times — Chandramukhi.
Vasu, who was actually working on the script of Chandramukhi 2 before Kuselan happened, unwinds between hectic schedules to talk about the film. “Yes, following the success of Chandramukhi, I was scripting its sequel. Even Rajnikant had heard the outline of the story and given the green signal. When things were beginning to fall in place, Natarajan, an associate director in Malayalam cinema, suggested I watch the film Katha Parayumpol, a runaway hit in Kerala. The film revolved around a barber’s fascination for film star Mammootty. The minute I saw it, I imagined our own superstar in a film like that. The climax made a deep impact on me. I’ve never come across such a story,” smiles Vasu.
So the next thing the ace director did was call up Rajnikanth and ask him to watch Katha Parayumpol. “The superstar watched the film, but left without a comment. I was puzzled. But the call came the following day. He told me how much the film had impacted him and evinced interest in it. We met and discussed the nitty-gritty. But having said yes to Robot, he wondered how he would be able to juggle two films at a time. I assured him I would wrap up his portion real fast. He agreed — mainly because the film had affected him so deeply.”
Rajni as Rajni
Vasu, who can’t stop gushing about the superstar continues, “It was Rajni who suggested that K. Balachander, his mentor, watch the film so that his production house Kavithalaya could take it up. Balachander felt the story had a striking semblance to that of the superstar and insisted Rajni play himself in the film. That’s how things began to roll with Pushpa Kandasmy as producer. It’s set for release on July 31.”
The Telugu version, Kathanayakudu, will have Jagapathi Babu playing the barber. “In Tamil we zeroed in on Pasupathi. Rajni was impressed by his performance in Veyil. We wanted someone who has not seen the superstar in person or acted with him. Vadivelu plays a meaty role, and so does Meena (she appears in the Tamil and Telugu versions). Rajni’s heroine in the film is none other than Nayanthara.”
Regarding the speculation relating to the number of scenes in which Rajni makes an appearance, Vasu says, “It’s a role that will be remembered. And it’s not merely a guest appearance. We have seen bits and pieces of ‘Rajni as Rajni’ in Valli and Anbulla Rajnikant. I personally feel the scene count doesn’t matter. What matters is the impact a character makes and the message he/she conveys. And that’s where Kuselan scores. What sets it apart from such star-centric films is the treatment.”
Talking about the ‘Cinema Cinema’ number, one of the highlights of the film, Vasu explains, “The number will be a sure-fire hit. It features the icon in 10 stylish looks. Portions of the song were shot with real fans at the Shanti theatre. If you remember, A. R. Rahman’s first film was Roja, a Kavithalaya production; now Kuselan has music by the maestro’s nephew G.V. Prakash.”
When asked whether it would be a ‘superstar versus superstar’ situation with Priyadarshan planning to remake Katha Parayumpol in Hindi with Shah Rukh Khan, Vasu smiles, “Each is great in his own way. They have distinct styles and a major following. But much depends on the treatment of the script.”
Switching to a mellow mood, the director says, “Eight years after I did Uzhaipali with Rajni, Chandramukhi happened. Soon, Kuselan followed. I wish to do more films with him. But as you know, man proposes, God disposes. So let’s wait and see.”
Rajni appears in Kuselan only after the third reel.
There are a couple of scenes from Annamalai. But Rajni looks much younger in Kuselan!
Even after 25 years of their association, Rajni’s regard for KB is the same
Superstar wanted Livingstone in the film. He also wanted a meaty role for Vadivelu.
Meena appears in both Tamil and Telugu versions of the film

It is well aware that Young Tiger NT Rama Rao had signed the dotted line for a film to be produced by Kodali Nani under the direction of VV Vinayak and the film was formally launched with puja activities recently. However, the director unable to convince the hero with a suitable subject and NTR too listened to different stories but none of them suited the taste of the hero.
It is learnt that NTR is now insisting on a storyline with political touch. In this backdrop, some fresh assistant directors and writers were introduced to the hero for story sittings. Like his earlier film ‘Samba’, NTR wants to do a message-oriented film and at the same time, the film should have some satires on the present government. It is learnt that NT Rama Rao is planning to launch campaign for the Telugu Desam through his next film. The producer is making efforts to launch the regular shooting of the film at any cost in August.

Forthcoming Rajnikanth-starrer "Kuselan" has finally got the go ahead for its simultaneous release in Karnataka August 1, though many groups were against it, alleging that the Tamil superstar had made "anti-Kannadiga" statements.
The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), while giving the green signal, advised the film's distributor in the state to release "Kuselan" with only 10 prints and in 13 theatres in Bangalore.
Some Kannada organisations had been demanding that "Kuselan" be released in the state only after a seven-week moratorium as Rajnikanth had hurt the sentiments of Kannadigas by supporting Tamil Nadu on a row over a drinking water project in Hogenekkal, on the border between the two states.
The superstar had joined the Tamil film industry in a daylong protest fast in April against Karnataka's objections to the Rs 13.3 bn Hogenekkal project that is expected to benefit about three mn people in two Tamil Nadu districts. Karnataka is opposed to the project, saying its share of the Cauvery river waters will be affected.
During the protest, Rajnikanth had apparently blamed Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa for the problem, angering many Kannada activists.
But Kannada actress Jayamala, who is also KFCC chief, said that the issue should not be linked to the release of "Kuselan", specially since producer K Balachander was a respected film personality who had contributed to Kannada cinema as well.
"One of our own members is releasing the film, then how can we stop the release? What we have advised is that he release the film following all the restrictions about prints and the number of theatres it can be shown in," said Jayamala.
Directed by P Vasu, "Kuselan" is a remake of Malayalam hit "Katha Parayumbol" starring Mammooty. It is said to have been made at a cost of Rs 600 mn and also stars actresses Nayanthara and Meena. The storyline is about a film star helping an old acquaintance.

Both political parties TDP and Congress are trying their best to woo film actors to counter Megastar Chiranjeevi. While Chandra Babu managed to get the support of Balakrisha, NTR and Kalayan Ram, Congress has been trying its best to use Mahesh Babu's charisma in the coming Assembly elections. Super star Krishna, a former congress MP, said he would continue to serve the party but virtually ruled out his son and Mahesh Babu taking a plunge into politics.
But according to the inside sources, Mahesh Babu indeed signed Rs 100 crore contract with congress party to support the congress in the assembly elections. Did Mahesh Babu really sign the contract or not? We have to wait and see. Rajasekhar and Jeevitha recently joined the ruling Congress and said they were ready to contest against superstar Chiranjeevi in the coming elections.

When it comes to asserting the supremacy at the top and battling it out for the top slot, our heroines are not far behind. Catfights and back biting are not something new in film industry, though it is not written about or discussed in public. What these two girls hate each other? Trisha was suspected to be the one behind Nayanatara being unceremoniously dropped as the brand ambassador of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL tournament. Nayanthara’s dare-bare bikini act in Billa got heads turning her way and overnight she emerged as the most sought-after girl.
Recently Nayan was supposed to be the chief guest at mutual friend and designer SS Sidney's Spring Summer 2008 Collections. But when she came to know that Trisha was walking the ramp, she dropped out at the last minute. At the Filmfare function and later at the party, they ignored each other. And to rub it in, last week, Nayan also looked through Shriya and Reema Sen who were staying in the same hotel while Trisha threw a big party after winning the Filmfare award for which she did not invite her former friend. Vishal, who once claimed that he was madly in love with Nayan during the making of Sathyam, is said to be the new flavor in Trisha's life. The catfight, it seems, is not going to end anytime soon.

Stories made on innocence, adolescence and the magic of youth always cast enchanting spells permeating our hearts with joy. This is the stuff that lives are made with. Exploits during our formative years stand in good stead molding our futures with lasting impressions.
Anita Udeep is currently filming an exciting Telugu film along these lines titled 'Chali 100°'. Having already made two films, 'Knock, knock….I am looking to marry' and the animation flick 'Gulliver's Travels' in English, it is now a Telugu movie 'CHALI 100 degree'.
'Fun-times' for just about anybody is life after school and college hours. 'What's interesting is that this is a high school film with hardly any classroom scene' says the young filmmaker.
The exploits of Surya, B.LO, Tanya, Rohit, Akash and Ralte on hostel campus would most certainly arouse the curiosity especially in the background of the dense forest atmosphere that prevails on their campus. The movie would be mostly on the lives of these young adults in their 12th grade. 'The film will have exciting action and humor laced with loads of twists and turns' says Anita.
Music for Chali 100° is being designed in such a precise manner that it plays different characters in the film so much so that the music part would synchronize with the emotions of the lead characters identifying with their innate natures.
The film is also planned to have a simultaneous release in Tamil titled 'Kulir 100°'.

After a stupendous hit like ‘Pokiri’, Maheshbabu tasted successive failures with films like ‘Sainikudu’ and ‘Atithi’. Unable to digest the failures, the Prince had decided to take a considerable gap to sign the dotted line for his next movie. It is well aware that the puja activities for his next film to be directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Singanamala Ramesh on the banner of Kanakaratna Movies were held long ago. Now, the story for the film was finalised recently. It is learnt that the producer is making arrangements for the launch of the regular shooting of the film from August 4. After the miserable failure of ‘Atithi’ Maheshbabu kept himself off from the media and now he is getting ready to go to the sets directly.
The combination of Maheshbabu and Trivikram was proved a big hit with the success of ‘Athadu’. Hence there were lots of expectations on their forthcoming film and the director committed to give another blockbuster with Maheshbabu in the same style. He reportedly prepared a very good subject for his project. As per indications, the film will have less action and more entertainment. Reliable sources say that Parvati Melton was selected as one of the heroines. However, the unit is yet to select the main heroine.

Once upon a time Nisha Kothari was more famous as Ram Gopal Varma’s discovery, but now she’s making inroads in Tollywood. Her first Telugu flick to hit the screens was the Balakrishna starrer Okka Magadu, since then she’s appeared in a string of spiced up glamour roles. Now her new movie Hari Om starring new-comer Sekhar, along with Madhu Sharma, is in brisk progress. She has also replaced the actress Malavika in Samrajyam, being filmed in Tamil as Karthigai, due to Malavika’s pregnancy.
Known as Amoha in Kollywood, this spicy hot bombshell is called Nisha across the border in Tollywood. Actually, she’s was born Priyanka Kothari and says that she wants to be known by her original name. But then it’s a bit late for that now Amoha/Nisha. But ‘A rose is a rose by any other name.’

Rajinikanth and director Shankar have been very busy over the past few weeks with the groundwork for Robot set rolling. The duo have completed about three photo sessions thus far – one in Mumbai and two in Chennai.
It seems that Shankar is quite satisfied with the outcome but the final decision on Rajini's get-up in Robot is yet to be decided.
Meanwhile, Rajini and Shankar will fly down to Mumbai in a few days time for the fourth photo session. Interestingly, this photo shoot session will have Aishwarya Rai also participating in it. Sources say that Shankar is taking extra care about Rajini's looks in Robot as his role happens to be that of a young scientist.

'Salute' features Nayantara in a glamorous role and has reportedly performed in a steamy manner with Vishal in a song sequence. Ever since the movie's stills were published in the press there has been a lot of talk of the 'onscreen closeness' of the lead pair. Many even started wondering if Nayantara was forced to step on the glamour element.
When a section of the press voiced this to the director of the film Rajashekar, during a press meet held recently, he categorically denied forcing Nayantara into appearing sexy in the film.
'The story needed the female lead to be glamorous and I had made this point very clear when I narrated the story to her' said Rajashekar.
Nayantara plays a daring television journalist in the film and her relationship with a top cop adds on the fuel to her investigation as well as the police department's hunt for the baddies.
'Nayantara is a thorough professional and took it upon herself to do justice to the role' Rajashekar added.
The film is slated for release on August 15 as 'Sathyam' in Tamil and 'Salute' in Telugu. What started as a four-Crore budget went on to a whopping cost of 23 Crores. About 600 prints are being made available for the release.Labels: Nayanatara 0 comments

Where the sexy Shriya Saran, who appeared opposite Rajnikanth in Sivaji — The Boss last year, is shooting for BT. Some street romeos, unaware that she is already hot property in Bollywood, try to harrow the actress with wolf whistles and comments like, “Sexy ho, Bollywood ki rani ban sakti ho!” Shriya, of course, chews men like them up for breakfast every morning. She replies, “Dum hai na mere main!”
No doubt, the success of Sivaji... and her newfound status as a hot and sensational property in the South has made Shriya confident today. “Sivaji was Rajni’s film, but being a great man, he let me shine in it. Working with him, I learned to set myself a benchmark. Though I often ask myself — where now from here,” the actress admits. Where now, is for Bollywood to tell the talented Southern star.
Riding on Sivaji’s success, she’s bagged several projects, including some from Hollywood. In Bollywood, besides her debut film Awarapan, Shriya’s in Sangeeth Sivan’s Ek. “Films were incidental. I call it an arranged marriage. I fell in love with films after I got into the business. I was grooming to be a Kathak dancer when I landed in a music video. That’s how it began,” she says. On the Hollywood front, Shriya has wrapped up Ashok Amritraj’s The Other End of the Line opposite Canadian actor Jesse Metcalfe. And how has Deepa Mehta’s What’s Cooking to look forward to.
Now that she is in Bollywood, Shriya’s big ambition is to star opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She revealed, “I met him as a fan when I was about 11 and took his autograph. He was shooting in Udaipur for Khuda Gawah. Recently, I met him at an award function in Bangkok and told him that. He was amused. I told Mr Bachchan, ‘I want to work with you.’ And he replied, ‘I’m looking forward to it!’” But she doesn’t really have any favourites in Bollywood. “I am greedy. I want to work with everyone,” Shriya admits candidly.
