Lakshmi Narasimha in Hindi as Thanedaar Returns

After enjoying almost two decades of a successful career in the South, director KS Ravikumar is now Bollywod-bound.

He will soon be remaking the Tamil hit "Saamy", (remade in Telugu as "Lakshmi Narasimha" starring Balakrishna and Asin) with Sanjay Dutt in Hindi. And the buzz is that music composer Anirudh Ravichander, who's riding high post the viral hit "Kolaveri Di" is likely to compose music for this project, tentatively titled "Thanedaar Returns".

Confirming the news, the "Rana" director, KS Ravikumar says, "I will be directing my first film in Hindi, with Sanjay Dutt in the lead. I will be remaking a Tamil hit, and in all probability, it will be the Vikram-starrer, "Saamy". There are also plans to cast Amitabh Bachchan in an important role, but we are yet to approach him. Meanwhile, I'm in talks with Anirudh to compose the music."

Anirudh, who has just debuted in Kollywood with Dhanush's "3", says, "It is true that we had a chat about this film. However, nothing has been finalized yet."

Ravikumar adds that his Hindi flick will go on floors in April 2012. "By the time Rajinikanth completes "Kochaidayaan", I will try and wrap up my Hindi film. "Rana" will go on floors immediately after Rajini and I finish our respective projects," he says
