Ileana & Tarun’s Romeo & Juliet will be ‘Bhale dongalu’.

Bellamkonda Suresh is producing a film with director K Vijayabhaskar . Tarun and Ileana are playing lead roles. Vijabhaskar wanted to title the film as Romeo & Juliet but the title rights are with Mohan Babu. Now the director is going for new title Bhale Dongalu.

The film is planning to go for filming couple of songs in New Zealand and Australia.

Kamalini turns hot!

Kamalini Mukherjee made her debut with the telugu film 'Anand'. She later went on to act in many films, but she always portrayed homely and somewhat de-glamorized roles. She has this girl next-door image and this has affected her chances of bagging roles with some young heroes.

But all this now set to change. Kamalini has gone in for a drastic image makeover. The results can bee seen in her forthcoming film 'Gamyam'. She will sport some of the trendiest and revealing outfits in the film. She plays Saravanand's love interest in the film. Allari Naresh is playing a special role in the film.

Shekar Kammula on big heroes

Director Shekar Kammula is a hotshot director. He is now easily the most sought after director in Tollywood. He gave a super duper hit with an almost all new star cast with 'Happy Days'. The film is one of the biggest hits of 2007. But Shekar Kammula is a very levelheaded guy and is not carried away easily.

Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu and several others have expressed their interest to star in a film under his direction. Shekar is exploring various options. He feels that directing big heroes is very difficult. They all come with a heavy baggage of a big pre-set image. They also carry the burden of the expectations of their fans. It is not an easy task to live up to the expectations of the fans of big stars, says Shekar. Balakrishna's film 'Okka Mogadu' is a recent example.

Shekar Kammula was presented with K V Reddy award in Hyderabad the other day. Akkineni Nageswara Rao presented the award to Shekar Kammula at a glittering function at the Tyagaraya Gana Sabha in Hyderabad. The Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society organized the function. It is well known that Shekar studied in CBIT.

SS Rajamouli and Ramcharan’s film would hit the screens by next Sankranthi 2009.

Chandrababu outdoes Chiranjeevi

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu has overtaken film actor Chiranjeevi in blood bank politics by launching a virtual blood bank on Monday.

The blood bank, dedicated in the memory of former chief minister and founder of Telugu Desam N.T. Rama Rao, is one of its unique kind in the country. The TD leadership has enrolled thousands of volunteers for blood donation through the NTR Virtual Blood Bank.

Governor N.D. Tiwari launched the blood bank at Basava Rama Tarakam Cancer Hospital. The party has already collected 50,000 units of blood and has donated 25,000 units to Red Cross Society. "Now blood donation is just a call away. Our volunteers are ready round the clock. The call centre can be approached 24X7," he said

Naidu, who has shifted his focus to social services after the TD lost the Assembly polls in May 2001, has procured blood tubular separators for the blood bank. Anyone who needs blood of any group and of any amount can call up 040-30799999 and the Telugu Desam volunteers will reach the patient to donate blood.

The facility is available in the remote areas also. People in Hyderabad can take blood from the NTR blood bank. In districts, party volunteers will be posted for helping any patient in need of blood.

"The NTR Blood Bank is the most sophisticated in the country. It is far superior to the blood bank being run by Chiranjeevi. Our equipment is the latest from the medical laboratory industry. Facilities are also there to separate plasma and blood corpuscles," said P. Srisailam, the state coordinator for NTR virtual bank.

Nagarjuna as Bangaram

Akkineni Nagarjuna, who plays modern God in Vishnu's ready for release film Krishnarjuna, is excited about his offbeat role, which he says, will have beauty only when donned by an artiste with image. Nag's role is one which comes into existence all of a sudden from thin air as and when the hero wants God to see. Vishnu plays the role of a disappointed youth, who gets guidance from none other than God himself. "Krishnarjuna is one movie which gives me utmost satisfaction that I have really ventured into a different role. In this film, I call Vishnu as Mitrama (friend), and he addresses me as Bangaram. In fact, I okayed the project within ten minutes of hearing the subject," says Nagarjuna. The movie is releasing all over the world with 275 prints on February 1 st.

Why Ash chosen over Deepika

Ending all speculations, Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been chosen to star opposite Tamil superstar Rajinikanth in director Shankar’s forthcoming science fiction project titled ‘Robot’.

Earlier, there were speculations that Shankar, who had made the runaway Tamil hit ‘Shivaji – The Boss’ with Rajnikanth, was considering casting newcomer Deepika Padukone for the role.

Rumors were rife that Shankar had approached Deepika for the role, but was aghast at the fees charged by the newcomer.

Sources said that he was also considering Nayanthara to act opposite Rajnikanth in the film. However, the speculations have died following Aishwarya’s confession that she has been offered the role and she is very excited over it.

It may be mentioned here that the former Miss World had earlier acted in Shankar’s ‘Jeans’ in 1998.

According to Aishwarya, work on the film’s schedule has begun and the filmmakers are trying to accommodate her dates for the shooting.

She said that there had been so many offers in the past that tried to bring her and Shankar together and she hopes this works out fine.

In addition to ‘Robot’, Aishwarya has also been offered two international projects ‘Bhopal Movie’, a film based on the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy, and Sir Ben Kingsley's ‘Shah Jahan’.

So, while the former Miss World became the Bachchan bahu in year 2007, with big projects and banners coming her way, even 2008 promises to be a great year for her professionally!

Miss Medhavi instead of mr medhavi?
The film Mr. Medhavi directed by Neelakanta hit the screens today. Raja and Genelia is the lead pair. The film is a love story with a slight twist in the presentation. The director gave the title as 'Mr. Medhavi'. So we all assume that the hero is Mr. Medhavi.

Medhavi means an intellectual or a genius. But the hero, Raja is not exactly an intellectual or a genius. He is plain street smart. He is actually a cunning fellow who takes advantage if gullible to further his cause. By no account can we term him as Medhavi. He is just plain smart, cunning, cold and calculative, selfish etc. Bit not a Medhavi by any stretch of imagination.

On the other hands, Genelia, with her sharp brain and caring nature is the real Medhavi in the film. She brings about a change in the attitude and way of thinking in the hero. She accomplishes all this without giving an inkling of doubt to the hero. Even the audience is kept guessing till the end. So it would have been more appropriate if the title had been given as 'Miss Medhavi' and not Mr. Medhavi.

Rajkumar, Keeravani, Vandemataram Srinivas, Sri, Ramana Gogula, Devisri Prasad, Chakri and director Patnaik himself) have rendered.

Bhoomika Interview

Bhumika chawla Interview, Bhumik, chawla Interview At a time, when new girls walk into Hindi films in the skimpiest of clothes, this actress made an unconventional debut in a glamourless, salwar kameez-clad role with Tere Naam. Having seen immense success down South, the actress is choosy about her Hindi films.

In a free-wheeling chat, Bhumika Chawla talks about Family, her next release and her life in the film industry …

Excerpts from the Interview:

Family - Ties of Blood is the much-awaited film from AB Corp Ltd and this is your first film with them. How excited or apprehensive were you while doing the film?

I wasn’t apprehensive at all. In fact, I had a great time. It was also a very good experience for me to be working with such big names from the Hindi film industry. This was my second film with Amitji after Dil Jo Bhi Kahey and it was a treat to work under the direction of Rajkumar Santoshi, a maker everyone wants to be associated with.

You seem to be the most fortunate actor to have worked with Amitabh Bachchan in two films out of your six Hindi films till date.

Yes, I consider it my privilege. (Smiles) I am the chosen one.

How did you feel when you had to face the camera with him for the first time?

We have become friends now. But my first shot for Dil Jo Bhi Kahey was with Amitji. As I played a doctor, in the scene, I had to tell him about his wife’s condition who had been hospitalised. I had rehearsed my lines thoroughly and when I was certain of not making an error, I walked onto the sets and was ready to give the shot. But when I came face to face with Amitji, I forgot my lines. I think this happens with everyone who comes within his proximity. Embarrassed, I apologised and said, ‘Please give me two minutes’. He replied, ‘Don’t worry. Take your time.’ I went to a corner, practiced my lines again and before going back to give the shot, thought to myself that there are two ways about doing it: either I make mistakes and go on giving 20 takes or think that I am facing another actor and not a big personality like Amitabh Bachchan. I thought the second one was a good idea and I went ahead. To everyone’s surprise, the shot was okayed in the first take and Amitji was impressed. He said, ‘Very good’.

You didn’t have any inhibitions about him after that.

Of course not because after that we bonded and became good friends. But before that I was a little perturbed. Who isn’t? He is such a big name, a thorough professional and a great human being.

Bhumika chawla Interview, Bhumik, chawla InterviewWhen I was shooting with Abhishek Bachchan for Run, not once did Amitji visit the sets which was quite surprising. So,I never had the privilege of meeting him then. My first meeting with him was when I was invited by Abhishek for holi at their house. Since I don’t party much and had just one Hindi release to my credit, nobody recognised me there. I went in quietly and introduced myself to Amitji. He was gracious and after sometime when I went back to say goodbye, he said, ‘My child, don’t leave so soon. Enjoy yourself first.’ But since I was feeling awkward in the crowd, I left quietly after sometime. Next I met him was for a few minutes before starting the shooting of Dil Jo Bhi Kahey in Mauritius.

And like so many, you too seem to be one of his fans …

Who isn’t? Amitji is so brilliant. I am amazed at his energy and determination. For a 64-year-old, he can put any youngster to shame with his enthusiasm and punctuality.

That’s true. This is your first film with Rajkumar Santoshi. Was he a tough task master?

On the contrary. Rajji is such a perfectionist. He would explain each shot in such detail. He is like a school teacher. Very systematic. He took care of every detail like the lights, setup, costumes, etc. He would not tire even after 10-15 retakes but would go on till the shot was to his satisfaction. When I was not getting an emotional scene right even after ten takes and kept putting glycerine in my eyes, he came to me and said ‘Think this is happening to you in real life. Feel the pain’ and next, the shot was okayed.

For him, work is worship. When he is on the sets he hates to be disturbed or distracted. Neither does he want his artistes’ attention to be diverted. If there is disturbance or people are moving around on the sets while he is canning a shot, he prefers to wait till the commotion is over so that he and his artiste can concentrate on the scene. As for me, I have always wanted to work with him after watching his Lajja. I liked the way he brought out the characters and the trauma of the women in the film.

Bhumika chawla Interview, Bhumik, chawla InterviewAlso this is the first time you have been paired with Akshay Kumar. How was he as a co-star?

Akshay is a nice person, so full of life. Even when everyone was tired and stressed out after a day-long shoot, he would bring life into the atmosphere with his jokes ad light-hearted banter. He is also very helpful. I had great fun working with him in Family.

What was your equation with Aryeman? Did he remind you of your days as a newcomer?

Aryeman is a young boy, and like Akshay, full of life. The guys had a great time together. As an actor, he is amazing and it doesn’t feel like this is his debut film. Unlike me in Tere Naam, he was very carefree and calm. Moreso because the film is produced by his father Keshu who is a fabulous man.

With so many people in the cast, do you think you had enough scope for performance?

I don’t think anyone has any reason to complain as all got equal footage in Family. I am playing Akshay’s wife who stands by the family in good and bad times. When Rajji narrated the story to me, he said think of such a situation in your household. It can happen with anyone and I liked it so I took it up. Also working with Amitji, Rajji and Akshay was an added incentive.

Your debut film Tere Naam was a huge success. But since then you have had just six releases to your credit. Any other actor in your place would have gone on a signing spree …

I like it that way. I prefer going slow and doing good work. I don’t want to be seen all over the place, doing all sorts of films. Neither do I want to get typecast in a role. If you notice, I have portrayed different characters in all my films so far. I am also fortunate to be doing good work down South. All this keeps me busy all the time. But since I don’t party much and am not a Page 3 person, people hardly know me.

It has been three years since Tere Naam. When you look back today, how do you review your career?

I was lucky to bag Tere Naam as my debut film. It was the remake of the Tamil hit film Sethu featuring Vikram. Like its original, it did well in Hindi too. It was a wonderful experience doing the film though my role was sans make up and glamour yet it was a perfect launch pad for me.

This was followed by glamorous roles in films like Run, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha and Silsilay…

In Run, I played the role of a gangster’s sister with whom a headstrong guy falls in love. It was almost similar to that of Nirjara in Tere Naam. I had the opportunity to work with good people like Abhishek Bachchan and Mahesh Manjrekar but unfortunately the film didn’t do too well. Again Run was a remake of a Tamil hit with the same title which was a huge success there. It was even dubbed in Telugu.
I did Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha only for Salman Khan. It was directed by his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri. Silsilay was about the lives of four women and I played a fast-rising Hindi film actress whose live-in relationship with the man who groomed her for a film career is about to break-up. The story was about the coming together of the women in an act of solidarity.

Dil Jo Bhi Kahey followed next.

For the first time, I played a doctor in the film. Entirely shot in Mauritius, it was about the cultural conflicts that exist in the society. It was fun to be working with newcomer Karan Sharma. He is a very simple and hardworking guy. Revathy too was very warm. And what else can I say about Amitji?

You began your acting career with South films. Now that you have established yourself in Hindi films, do you plan to bid goodbye to regional films?

Never. I will continue working down South till the day I decide to quit acting forever. I am indebted to South films.

You saw immense success there. Tell us more.

I have always wanted to be popular. And so I participated in a lot of extra-curricular activities where people would notice me. Nine years ago I had come to Mumbai for the first time and my cousin insisted that I send my portfolio around. Thus started the rounds for work. I began with commercials and music videos, before South films beckoned.

My first film in Telugu was Yuvagudu but it was the success of Kushi that flooded me with offers and appreciation. Also starring Pawan Kalyan, it was directed by SJ Surya for producer AM Ratnam. Okkadu, opposite Mahesh Babu, again created records followed by NTR Junior-starrer Simhadri which was a blockbuster. NTR Junior is a hot star in Andhra today and I also did Samba with him. Autograph with Ravi Teja is the remake of the Tamil film directed by Cheran; Snehamante Idera with Nagarjuna, YKS Rama Raos Vasu with Venkatesh, Vasu and Badri are some of the other films.

Missamma, the fun-filled Tamil film, also featuring Shivaji and Laya, was directed by the National award winning director Neelakanta. It was his film all the way.

Back home, what are the films in the offing?

I have a couple of releases. There is a thriller titled Benaam with Ajay Devgan to be directed by Anees Bazmee. In theatre director Feroze Khan’s Mahatma v/s Gandhi, Akshaye Khanna is my co-star. It is produced by Anil Kapoor. I also have Jai Chiranjeevi in Telugu opposite Chiranjeevi.

You recently went out of your way to help the victims of the July 26 deluge. What was the experience like?

I did not know the impact of the floods till I watched a television report and I was terribly upset looking at the condition of so many people who suffered huge losses. That is when my friend Bharat and I decided to do something rather than sit and discuss the situation. Firstly we got in touch with Sanjay Nirupam since we were not aware of how to go about it. He helped us to raise funds and instructed about the places which needed immediate help. We collected and distributed things like rice and pulses in the most-affected areas like Kalina, Vakola and Jogeshwari.

You and Bharat seem to be in the news lately …

Bhumika chawla Interview, Bhumik, chawla InterviewYeah. I like his company. I was introduced to Bharat by Satish Kaushik who thought I needed to learn yoga for a healthy living. Bharat Thakur is a yoga teacher and has written some books on the subject. He also runs institutes in India and abroad and has people like Satish Kaushik, Anil Kapoor, Sunita Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Tara Sharma, Akshaye Khanna and some industrialists amongst his huge clientele. Though I don’t like to reveal much about my personal life, all I can say is the Bharat is a good friend with whom I can discuss anything under the sun. He understands me very well. There are times when we only play ludo, monopoly, chess or other such games for hours together or we watch television or films and are not bored in each other’s company. What I want to say here is that we are very comfortable being together without any frills. Destiny will decide our future. But right now we are happy as we are.

Nagababu meets select fans of Chiru in Guntur
Actor Nagababu met over 500 selected fans of his brother and megastar Chiranjeevi at a meeting held at a pipes company on the outskirts of the city on Friday. A majority of the fans were from SC, ST and BC communities, it is learnt.

Nagababu said SCs, BCs and STs could utilise the service programmes of his brother which were not confined to any particular community. His brother’s main aim was that all communities in the society should live amicably, he said.

Two mediapersons were sent out of the meeting. Later, when newsmen asked him when the megastar would take the plunge into politics, Nagababu said he too was awaiting the decision of his brother.

Jalsa Audio Rights

The audio rights of Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Jalsa’ were bagged by Aditya Music. Surprisingly, the music company had paid almost double the rate of a popular hero’s film audio, which was released recently. However, the music company sources are not revealing the exact amount as the right was bagged at a fancy rate. A gossip is making rounds that Devi Sri Prasad gave extraordinary music for the movie after a long gap. It is worth mentioning here that all the films of Pawan Kalyan were musical hits. Moreover, the gossip that the audio was extraordinary raised the expectations on the movie and earned a lot of craze. The stills which were released recently appeared greater than Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Khushi’ recently. All these factors hiked the craze among the people. The Telugu audiences had to wait till the end of February to listen to the music of ‘Jalsa’.

The latest flick of Pawan Kalyan, ‘Jalsa’, is getting the final touches. Presently some patch work is being done at Annapurna Studios. The producer is making efforts to release the film on March 27. With this the film would wrap up its shooting. The film has music from Devisri Prasad, his first-ever combination with Pawan Kalyan. The audio of the film would hit the stands in the end of February. Allu Aravind is producing the movie on the banner of Gita Arts with Trivikram Srinivas wielding the megaphone. The film would be a complete entertainer with action backdrop.

Title: Mr Medhavi

Credits - Camera:Sunil K Reddy

Producer:Bodduluri Rama Rao
Story, screenplay, dialogues and direction:Neelakanta
Banner:Lifestyle Art Pictures

Director Neelakanta comes up with a good one with Mr. Medhavi. He is different from other directors and he has proved this yet again with this film. Mr. Medhavi is a directors' film all the way.

Vishwaksen (Raja) is an orphan and is taken care of by a kind-hearted soul – Sankaram master. The teacher gives him shelter in his house and also gives him education. He also imbibes in him some good values.

Vichu becomes friend with a girl Swetha (Genelia) who has come from Canada and joins his school. They become god friend but the girl goes back to Canada after about two months.

But Vichu cannot forget Swetha and keeps dreaming about her all the time. He completes his MBA and lands a plum job in a big company run by Suman. Suman's daughter comes to India to set up a big pharmaceutical company. She is none other than Vichu's childhood friend Swetha.

Vichu works as her project manager in setting up the pharmaceutical company. He wants to make Swetha fall in love with her and uses his intelligence to try and make her say 'I Love You' first.

Swetha gives him a big shock by saying that she is in love with Anu Sood and wants Vichu to help her in winning his love. But Vichu actually tries to spoil her love by trying to portray him as a bad person. Swetha then uses all her intelligence and manages to bring about a change in the attitude of Vichu. She teaches him the values of human relations. The film ends on a happy note with Swetha uniting with Vichu.

The film is neat and clean. The comedy is also good. Dharmavarpu and MS Narayana come up with some good comedy. The performance of all the artists is very good. Genelia comes up with another good performance. Raja and Anu Sood are also good.

Music by Chakri, the cinematography and direction together make the film a good clean family entertainer.

Swagatham Review

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
'Swagatam' is probably one of the much-hyped films of Jagapati Babu in a very long time. It has our hero and two heroines, Anushka and Bhoomika and good dosage of sentiment and the usual triangular love story. Only this time, it is set abroad '€“ in the US, to be precise. After having been bombarded with Europe and Australia in most films, the US suddenly appears different and visually appealing. Probably because not many films have been set there in a long time.

The film happens to be the 75th film of Jagapati Babu. It is a huge budget film unlike most of his films in the recent past. He has co-produced the film and has decided to distribute it himself in the US. Naturally, the expectations have been very high. To be fair to Dasarath, he does not disappoint. In the sense that it is what one would typically go to watch in a Jagapati Babu movie.

Dasarath starts off in a novel way as far as a Telugu film is concerned. His story is set in the US, he has a heroine who is a part-time event manager and runs a boutique simultaneously. For a change, she is not all over our hero. Instead, she tries to keep her family together and clear her loans. Bogged down by family issues, Shailu (Anushka) has little time to look at the bright side of life. She is forever hassled and has a temper that frightens people.

In comes KK or Krishna (Jagapati Babu) into her little world. And with him, he brings cheer into her otherwise dull life. Suddenly, her problems are solved in a jiffy and she takes to the guardian angle in her life. Of course, he having a daughter Janu about the age of her nephew-son Chikoo, does not deter her from falling for him. But there has to be trouble in the la la land. So, in comes the twist in the tale in the form of KK'€™s wife Vidya (Bhoomika). Like in most films with a triangular love story, one of the characters has chronic leukemia. Thankfully, Dasarath spares us and does not fall into the trap of using a rather lengthy scientific name.

As the clock ticks away, we are taken on a short trip into the past. This is another aspect of KK's life and it shows how love happens between KK and Vidya and how they get married. This is the part that Dasarath handles rather well and this part of the film is his completely. KK in the past happens to be a self obsessed, bossy and disciplinarian businessman who meets Vidya of Jalaja Rao Marriage Bureau. Instead of finding a match for him, Vidya match fixes KK and they end up marrying each other after a short courtship.

Now who has the terminal illness and who dies in the end and who gets who, makes up the rest of the film. Jagapati Babu, Anushka and Bhoomika carry off their roles nicely. Arjun as the misunderstood brother-in-law of Anushka is perfect as the NRI doctor and friend of KK. Sarat Babu, Rama Prabha, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, MS Narayana, Ali, Sunil '€“ all have small roles, but fit their parts well and provide the laughs.

Music by R P Patnaik is not extraordinary, but there is a remix version of Piya tu ab to aaja, which the young audience may like. For the rest of it, it suits the storyline, though it does not make any long-lasting impact. The scenes in the US have been well-shot and the beauty of the North American capital is shown in a colourful palette.

Dasarath takes an entire sequence from Michelle Pfeiffer-George Clooney film One Fine Day, is inspired heavily by Shah Rukh's Kal Ho Na Ho for the first part. We cannot blame him though, as they are the mushiest of the mushy films that you can get. Yet, he holds his bit, thanks to the second half.

However, we cannot say it is something that we haven't watched before. Actually, Dasarath puts together many borrowed pieces to complete his puzzle. It comes with all the trimmings and the sweet and bitter taste of a rich, gooey chocolate cake. It is a sincere effort, but again, it may or may not appeal to everyone as it becomes a bit trite as it progresses.

Vishwa Teja, a relative of megastar Chiranjeevi, turns hero. He is doing lead role in a new film, Happy Journey, directed by Sabhapathi. The film was launched in a low-key on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Annapoorna Studios. Director Sabhapathi said the film explores the younger generation's problems in the corporate world. Tusha and Reshmi are making debut as heroines.

Who will be the looser-if Chiru enters politics?

Who will be the looser-if Chiru enters politics?- this was question posed to Telangana senior leaders by Veerappa Moily- Congress in charge AP, two days back in New Delhi. Veerappa Moily who is already got the state government’s intelligence report is counter checking the report by taking the opinion from senior leaders.

It is heard that YSR’s report to Veerappa Moily stated that Chiru’s party will affect only TDP, but not Congress.

Telangana senior congress leader have informed Moily that both Congress and TDP are going to loose heavily, if Chiru floats a political party.

Mr Medhavi to be a romantic entertainer

Shooting and post-production formalities of Mr Medhavi are complete and the first copy is also ready. The film is directed by Neelakanta presented by G Madhusudhan Reddy and produced by Bodduluri Rama Rao under the banner of Lifestyle Art Pictures. Raja and Genelia are in the lead.

Director said, "Like my earlier films, this film too highlights the human values. However, I have also given preference to romantic entertainment. I am confident that the film would entertain the audiences on the lines of my earlier film Missamma.

In everyone, there will be intelligence. However, one has to identify the innate talents in him. All the characters in our film will be very near to nativity and will provide good entertainment. Raja and Genelia have given complete justice to their roles."

"There are six songs in the movie and all of them were situational. Chakri scored good music for the movie," headded.

Genelia to do Aamir’s next

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
First it was Asin that Aamir Khan had insisted on. Now, it is Genelia. The impish-looking heroine of films such as Bommarillu and 'Dhee' will soon be seen opposite none other than Mr Perfect Aamir Khan.

But unlike some who would have been shouting from the roof tops by now, Genelia is pretty chilled out and is quite calm as she discloses this in a chat to an industry friend.

There is also Ileana who is debuting in Bollywood in a film opposite Shiney Ahuja.

Now, aren’t we happy that the heroines our directors had spotted long, long ago, are creating ripples up North!

Hansika gives producers nightmares!

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
Hansika Motwani who was introduced to Tollywood with a super hit film Desamuduru is currently acting in NTR’s Kantri.

Hansika is also busy in Bollywood as her debut film as heroine Aap Ka Suroor did decent business. This teen beauty has got all in her to rule the film industry in coming days. The biggest plus she has on her side is “age”.

She suits well opposite all the young heroes and that is a big bonus as there is serious drought of young actresses. These days many are turning heroes in early twenties and tender looking heroines like Hansika are hard to find.

But Hansika is soon turning a tough nut for the producers as she is demanding a whopping 50 lakh as her remuneration. Many producers are terrified by hearing that amount, film circles say.

“If she has one more hit to her credit she will demand a crore!” exclaim few people from the industry.

Pawan Kalyan to give 'break' to films?
Is Pawan Kalyan going to give a break to films for two years after completing Jalsa? Rumor in the film industry is that he is showing more interest in politics now. Buzz is that he also informed some producers not to come with film proposals for time being. Pawan is the mastermind behind his brother Chiranjeevi's political entry. Even on the sets of Jalsa, he is reportedly discussing regularly on the various issues of political strategy. Probably, Pawan might not to do any movie after Jalsa that releases towards the March end. Or at least for another two years!

Tanisha pairs with NTR in Kantri

Bollywood actress Tanisha Mukharjee is making her debut in Telugu. She has signed NTR starrer Kantri, sources told us. Produced by Ashwinidutt and directed by Meher Ramesh, the film has already completed 50 percent of shoot. Tanisha is Kajol's sister and is better known for her dare bare attitude. She had acted in films like Neil 'n' Nikki and also did a Tamil film which was later dubbed into Telugu as Nee Valle Nee Valle.

I am not aware of my father’s political interests - Srija
Despite their all too public personal feuds, Srija, the estranged daughter of actor Chiranjeevi, seems to have immense confidence in her father’s public appeal. Speaking to jurnos in Tirumala Srija, who was visiting the holiness along with husband Sireesh, said that she was never aware of her father’s interest in politics nor was it ever discussed in her presence. “But I am sure that my father will excel in what ever he chooses to pursue.” About their personal feud she said that things were normalizing now though the two families are yet not on completely amicable terms.

Kamal & Rajini – A new battle of grandeur

With Dasavatharam all set to hit the marquee in the month of April 2008, announcement on Kamal’s next project has snuck its way to the media. Going by the details of it, looks like Kamal is all set for another mammoth venture right after his ten-role act in Dasavatharam.

Titled Marmayogi, the movie is said to be produced by renowned Hollywood production house Walt Disney pictures for a whopping budget of Rs. 100 crores – not quite known to Tamil cinema yet. Walt Disney has roped in Bharath Bala of Vande Matharam fame for the production management of Marmayogi.

It’s a clash which has been going on for decades, but now it seems like the battle of grandeur and production scale between two superstars of Tamil film industry – Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, is getting to its peak. When Rajinikanth signed up a 60 crore project Sivaji, Kamal finalized the even bigger Dasavatharam. Now with the former again coming up with the announcement of Robot, touted to be financially the biggest project to be conceived in Indian film industry, jointly produced by Eros International and Ayangaran, the latter takes his dream to the next level. Perhaps the celluloid greats are really thinking bigger and higher.

Coming back to Marmayogi, the movie will be produced in four Indian languages - Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu - simultaneously. Although the rest of the cast are being finalized, credible sources strongly suggest that Asin stands a bright chance to bag the role of Kamal’s lead lady. Hemamalini, who was last seen in Kamal’s Hey Ram, is also rumored to be a part of the venture.

Earlier, Kamal tantalized his fans with only a teaser trailer of his dream venture Marudanayagam, an epic tale of one of the lesser known freedom fighters. Kamal even screened the trailer to the Queen of England during her Indian visit. However, for reasons ranging from budget to time consuming research, Marudanayagam could not take off and was eventually shelved. Now, Marmayogi, as the names suggests, is expected to have a historical backdrop and has hence raised the bar among his fans.

Dasavatharam is in its final stage of production and Kamal will participate in the initial discussions of Marmayogi after Dasavatharam is wrapped up completely. So will Marmayogi serve enough Marudanayagam-fodder to eager Kamal fans?

Mohanbabu As Shirdi Saibaba

Mohanbabu As Shirdi SaibabaVersatile actor Mohanbabu, who won appreciation from all quarters for his role as Lord Yama in Yamadonga, has played the challenging role of Shirdi Saibaba in his home production Krishnarjuna, starring Nagarjuna, Vishnu and Mamta Mohandas.

He would be seen in a brief appearance as Shirdi Saibaba in the film.

Made under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, Krishnarjuna is directed by P. Vasu with music by MM Keeravani and editing by Goutham Raju.

Nagarjuna to encourage new talent

Hero Nagarjuna is now a very happy and contended actor. He has come a long way in films. From a shaky start as a lankly young boy, he slowly evolved into a macho actor. He is easily the best looking actor in Tollywood today.

Nagarjuna has taken a big risk by portraying roles like an old man in Annamayya and also in Sri Ramadasu. But his gamble paid off and the audience found him to be amazing in his off beat roles.

Nagarjuna is now in a position where he can experiment, as he likes. This is one reason why he is even game to act in multi-starrers. Nagarjuna is playing a special role in Mohan Babu's film 'Krishnarjuna'. Vishnu is the hero. Nagarjuna has also decided to encourage young talent in a big way. Raghav Lawrence is one example. Nagarjuna gave a chance to make two films with him – Mass and Don.

Nagarjuna is now ready to give a chance to another newcomer in films. Prasad narrated a storyline to Nagarjuna and he liked it very much and asked him to develop it. Prasad has been working as an operative cameraman for many films including films on Annapurna banner. Nagarjuna has shown that he is second to none when it comes to giving a chance to newcomers.

Tabu‘s best yet to come

Director Chandra Siddartha must be an anxious man these days, as his upcoming venture Idhi Sangathi is getting ready to be released next month.
Considering this is his first release in three years after the success of Aa Naluguru, he has every reason to feel a tad jittery.

Starring Tabu in the lead, the film also has actors Abbas, Raja and Sunil in crucial roles. Tabu though, seems all gung ho about her character in the film.

"I am really excited about being a part of Idhi Sangathi. I can‘t divulge any details about my character in the film except that it is very close to my heart. I have a strong hunch that this is going to be one of the most memorable performances of my career," announces Tabu. Now that is some lavish praise indeed coming from one of the finest actors of our time. Can‘t wait for the film to hit the screens.

NTR is the new Don?

Telugu film industry is ready to get its very own Don, remake of the original one. Word has it that producer Kodali Nani and director V.V.Vinayak are working on the script of the original Don movie, the Hindi film that starred Amitab Bachchan, to suit it to the local tastes. And it is Jr NTR who is being considered to play the role of the very suave bad guy. Whether NTR will play a full fledged negative role for the first time or not is yet to be decided. Presently the actor is busy with producer Aswini Dutt’s Meher Ramesh directed Kantri. Other details of the film are yet to be announced.

Sankranthi box office report

The Sankranthi results are out now. Ravi Teja's Krishna has emerged as the real winner among the Sankranthi releases. It stands at No.1 position, facing stiff competition from three other festival releases. Krishna is a mile ahead from them.

The much-hyped Balakrishna and YVS Chowdhary's Okka Magadu turned out to be big dud at the box-office. This further helped Krishna which is directed by V V Vinayak. The film was not that hot, prior to release but the tables have turned now with the audiences enjoying its comedy.

Trisha who first time did the glamorous role also played key role in its success. Krishna also became a big rage in overseas that is a first time for a V V Vinayak film. And the big surprise is the rise of Sumanth's Pourudu. It now stands in second position. Sumanth made in roads into B and C centers with this movie. It netted about Rs 4 Crores of gross in the first week. Yet, in cities it moves on a slow run.

Balakrishna's Okka Magadu was written off by his fans and as well as general audiences as it lacks content. M S Raju turned director’s Vaana could not show off his magic this time. The film failed to attract the urban youth who have already seen such films in the past. Added to it, the grim climax did not gel with the multiplex audiences.

NTR is a great dancer says Genelia
Genelia riding high on the success of Bommarillu, Dhee is expecting a hat trick hit with Mr. Medhavi. She pinned lot of hopes on the work of Neelakanta; she also says that Neelakanta has a unique style in film making.

Also Genelia has a secret to share with. She was a great foot ball player and also played for Nationals. She was a State level athlete too! But her passion towards films drove her towards the "woods". Though she has got recognition in Tolly, Kolly and Bollywoods… Genelia prefers Tollywood to other languages.

While talking about her co stars Genelia said "NTR is a great dancer. I was surprised to see the ease in his dances. I was not able match up his speed many a time". Genelia acted with NTR in Samba and Naa Alludu. Ironically neither of the films worked!

Prince Mahesh fans will be disappointed as there will be no release of their handsome hero's film in the year 2008.

'Bheema' of Telugu to change Climax scenes?
'Bheema' is the movie that struck Tamil screens for Sankranthi, talk for this flick is not good, in this movie hero, heroine and other important stars die at climax is what is shown, this is resulting in minus marks for the flick. If the same climax is released in Telugu, even our audiences are sure to make it a flop, as such makers are thinking of changing the climax scenes for which again they have to re shoot the sequences. As such this movie was much much delayed due to many reasons, having released it with this outcome need to wait and watch what makers would do, whether they change climax or they release as it is to be seen.

Ileana is the 'Vadhuvu' of Mahesh Babu

The sensational pair Mahesh and d Ileana of Pokiri are coming together to deliver another sensational hit in the direction of Trivikram Sreenivas to be titled as Varudu- Vadhuvu Kaavalenu.

Meanwhile Trivikram's current project Jalsa with Pawan Kalyan is completing its shooting part tomorrow(23rd January) at Annapurna Studios. The film will hit the screens on 27th March after post production work.

Yester year's superstar Krishna also proved to be a good director. He stayed away from direction for many years now. Krishna who won the Kalaprapurna puraskar recently says that he has plans to get back to direction again. Though he stopped doing the lead roles Krishna is still continuing his acting career by doing some special characters.

He says that he is ready to act with grandson Gautam Krishna (Mahesh's son) if he gets a good script. "I am planning to direct a film very soon and if the subject suits to the image of Mahesh I might do that film with him" said Krishna. He also said that he wants to see Mahesh in a James Bond role.

If this film takes off it is needless to say that it will be a treat to Mahesh and Krishna fans.

Gopichand's Ontari audio released

The audio of Ontari, starring Gopichand and Bhavana, is released tonight at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad. Aditya music is marketing the album. The colorful function was attended by Dr. D. Ramanaidu, Pokuri Babu Rao, hero Rajasekhar, Prabhas, R. Narayanamurthy, Gopichand, heroine Bhavana and others. Made on Eetharam movies banner, it is produced by Pokuri Babu Rao and directed by BV Ramana. Music is by Mani Sharma.

Dr. D. Ramanaidu released the cassette and presented the first number to Prabhas. Rajasekar released the CD and gave it to Dil Raju. Speaking on this occasion, Ramanaidu wished good luck to the entire team. It may be noted that Ramanaidu mistook the title of the film as Pokiri instead of Ontari, which was immediately corrected by people on the dais. Highlight is that Ramanaidu too took it sportive. "This film Ontari will become a blockbuster like Pokiri," he said.

Rajasekhar said that he was surprised that Eetharam banner had shot the songs abroad for Ontari, which is first of its kind in its history. "This shows the commitment on the part of the producer and director towards mass elements. Generally, Pokiri Babu Rao is the sort of a person who would prefer a location like Singarayakonda for shooting a film like Meccenna's Gold. It's amazing that he took the unit abroad for songs." Pokuri Babu Rao said that he always filmed blockbusters with hero Rajasekhar. "Later, Raghavendra Rao did blockbuster Allari Priyudu, followed by my film Anna, which broke the previous record. The same thing happened with hero Gopichand, whose previous films on Eetharam banner – Yagnam and Ranam. The hero gave another blockbuster Lakshyam with producer Bujji. I hope Ontari will break the record of Lakshyam. If not could it break, at least it would level it," he said.

Hero Gopichand said that his characterization in the film came out wonderfully. He further praised the music director Mani Sharma for his superb work. Heroine Bhavana thanked the filmmakers for their patronage, providing her debut in Tollywood with a friendly unit. She hoped that the film would bring her name and fame in the industry. R. Narayanamurthy spoke in his own rebel's style, jovially pointing at the zeal of Pokuri Babu Rao for mass elements at "this stage of your career." Hero Prabhas too expressed his good wishes to the team.

Sequel to Aditya 369

Nandamuri Balakrishna officially confirmed that he is doing sequel to his blockbuster Aditya 369 that won him the wider audiences. "We have decided to make a sequel to Aditya 369 and I believe this is the right time to contemplate it," he informed. Shivalanka Krishna Prasad who originally produced the film will also produce the sequel too. Director for this film has not yet been finalized though.

Aditya 369 is a science fiction based on Time Machine concept and it is a unique film in Telugu. Directed by Singeetam Sreenivasa Rao, the film had music by Ilayaraja.

Balakrishna said the sequel will begin later this year.

Balakrishna started speaking to the media about his Sankranthi release Okka Magadu. He said he is game for experiments and sequels. But Balakrishna believes that remaking old classics involves big risk. That is why he said no to the proposal of remaking his father Late NTR starrer Yugandhar (which is remake of Amitabh's Don).
