Hansika Interview
Hansika is in town for a shooting schedule. No, it's not a Bollywood film, but a Tollywood one. She’s paired opposite NTR Jr. in the movie titled Kanthri. As we spoke to her, we discovered that the lovable child star of the television series Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand has now transformed into a graceful lady, ready to step into the heroine's shoes.

How has your experience been so far on working with NTR Jr., and tell us a little about the role you are essaying in the movie.
It has been absolutely wonderful working with him and I am looking forward to good times here! In this movie I play the role of a lucky charm. For more you will have to wait and watch the movie!

This is only your second Telugu movie after Desa Muduru . Has language been a hindrance?
My director has been very kind and patient in helping me with the language. All my dialogues would be written and explained in English, which made it comfortable for me to deliver.

Aap Kaa Surroor has been the surprise hit of the year. How have you gained?
I have been pretty content with the reviews I received. The critics have gone soft on me. Even if the first day reports hadn't been favourable, I'd not have felt demoralised. Considering that I'm just at the beginning my career, I realise that there's always scope for improvement.

There has been a lot of speculation about your age and people are still confused...
The whole world knows I am only 16 years old. Why the confusion still?

Isn't that too early to get into showbiz?
Aap Kaa Surroor was a great opportunity and I didn't want to lose out on that. There aren't any disadvantages to starting off early. If anything, it gives me a head start in my career. It also affords me the time to correct my mistakes. This is an opportunity any teen would snap up.

There are more things in life to grab than just opportunities. Aren't you growing up a little too fast?
Others my age study, have fun with friends and think of what they want to do with their future. I knew what I wanted and worked happily towards my goal. Before long, when I'm safely cushioned in my career, others would be starting off and having teething problems.

And finally what is the secret behind your transformation from the cute Tina in of the small-screen to the damsel in distress in Aap ka Surroor ?
During adolescence one matures fast and my films along with the character have shown that growth. All my roles are very different and my look would be dependent on the movie.

Mahesh Babu's politics!

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
Mahesh proved himself the true successor of Superstar Krishna is among the front runners of future number one hero spot in Tollywood. Mahesh inherited the charm of his father and achieved the "Superstardom" on his own. Like his great father he took up acting as his profession but he doesn't want to get into politics like him. Mahesh laughs aloud when he is asked, any political plans?

"I don't think politics is the only way to serve people. They gave me the stardom and the position I am in. But I don't have to get into politics for giving it back to them. I will do social service through my fans associations and in other ways" Mahesh said.

I want to be a film star forever and my aim is only to entertain people as much as I can, he added.

Chiranjeevi inspired me: Venkatesh
Venkatesh who is a star hero over last twenty years is a good friend of Megastar Chiranjeevi. Venkatesh maintains good relations with all the heroes, especially with Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan.

While speaking about Chiranjeevi in an n interview given to popular news weekly Venkatesh said "Chiranjeevi is already a big star by the time I entered thefilm industry. He is my inspiration in many aspects. Generally equations in film industry changes with hits and flops but with hits or flops Chiranjeevi still managed to be the number one hero in Tollywood. Since 1987 he is the number one hero in TFI and there is no debate on that".

"He still works as if it is his first film and that enthusiasm and dedication towards work surprises me. Though he is a Megastar on screen he never shows his superiority over others. He is the person who cares for the poor and needy" Venkatesh added.

It's always nice to see whenever a star says good words about his competitor without any egos. Venkatesh is one such rare star Tollywood is blessed with. It will be nice if the current generation heroes too take a leaf out of their senior's book.

Accompanied by his family members, Rahman offered a 'chadar' at the shrine he visits every year.

A staunch devotee of the saint who is said to have come from Bidar in Karnataka 400 years ago, Rahman has been popularising the shrine among the film fraternity. In November last year, actor Abhishek Bachchan and his actress wife Aishwarya Rai had offered prayers at the dargah.

Jab We Met in Telugu?

Following Moser Baer's home video release of Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor starrer Jab We Met, the compact disc maker plans to remake the movie in four regional languages. Moser Baer will remake Jab We Met in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam in a bid to cover the entire South Indian market.

Speaking exclusively to, Moser Baer Entertainment chief executive officer Harish Dayani says, "Jab We Met has a very simple and lovable script, which can be applicable for each and every language, so we negotiated with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision for its remake rights. We will remake the movie in the four South Indian languages."

Dayani further adds, "The actors and directors will be decided in due course of time. The Tamil and Telugu versions will roll out before the Kannada and Malayalam ones. It is a culturally neutral film but we may rewrite the script a little to suit the respective sensibilities."

The Tamil version will be a big budgeted film and plans are afoot to rope in big stars from the Tamil industry. Moser Baer is looking at making and releasing the Tamil and Telugu versions in 2008 itself.

When Moser Baer released Jab We Met on home video, the company backed it with well-planned TV commercials and contests. The home video has managed to reach the number one position at Planet M stores.

Jab We Met released theatrically on 26 October and is still running in a few theatres. The movie is directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision. It was distributed by The Indian Film Company.
