N B K - M S Raju - Sentiments will not always work out
N B K movies are mostly released during Sankranthi with a sentiment that it would go hit, with this sentiment 'Okka Magadu' of Y V S Chowdary was released which turned out to be utter flop, the reason is there is no proper story line up and people have given a justice saying that any movie without proper story line up would be blasted out. The other producer M S Raju too has same sentiment of releasing movies for Sankranthi, which he released 'Vaana' as his first Directorial venture turned out to be to another squib. At least they should note that movie sentiments will never workout, its only story of the movie that fetches it.

Dasavatharam-We looked forward to a Deepavali release, and when that didn't happen, we hoped for Pongal. Like the now legendary ten roles Kamal will play in Dasavatharam, we began to wonder if the film's release too would acquire myriad release dates! Meanwhile, we had to be content hearing the entire buzz the movie was creating: the fabulous make-up involved, the spectacular stunts, and second guessing which heroine will be paired against which avatharam. But the suspense is over now; the release date of what is perhaps the most awaited movie of the year has finally been officially announced.

Dasavatharam will hit theatres on April 10, 2008. But wait – there's a hotter buzz. The total prints for release numbers to an astounding 1200. Never in the history of Tamil/Telugu movies has there been so many prints made for a movie. The movie is set to release not just all over South India (Tamilnadu: 275 prints, Andhra: 225, Kerala: 75, Karnataka: 75) but also all over North India with 300 Hindi prints. Prints going overseas total 250. All this could only mean that Kamal knows for certain that in Dasavatharam he has a blockbuster that will outdo everything else lined up this year.

Taare Zameen Par-TV rights for Rs12 Crore.

The big screen may be the first choice of filmmakers when it comes to showcasing of movies, but the small screen is not doing bad either. The current trend depicts that more and more films are making huge deals from television rights. The latest film to become the bone of contention among channels is Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par. The film, based on a dyslexic child, has been praised by the critics and is also doing good business at the box office.

The TV rights for the film have been sold for a cool Rs 12 crore and Aamir is pretty upbeat about it,” revealed a source. The rights have been bought by Zee TV, who also bought the rights for Jab We Met before this. The amount is quite lucrative considering that a huge hit like Heyy Babyy got about Rs 10 crore. This one’s been a dream directorial debut for Aamir. But could anyone have expected anything less from the actor? Nah!

Now, Another Demand For Bharat Ratna - For NTR
The Bharat Ratna controversy took yet another turn with Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development D. Purandareswari demanding Friday that the nation's highest civilian honour be conferred on her father, former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N.T. Rama Rao.

Purandareswari made the demand on the occasion of her father's 12th death anniversary.

Paying her respects to N.T. Rama Rao, a hugely popular Telugu actor, she told newspersons that she had already sent a letter in this regard to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Garlanding the statue of her father in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, she said that NTR, as the actor was popularly known among his millions of fans, deserved the award for his contributions to the film industry and later his services to the people.

NTR's daughter joined the Congress party before the 2004 elections. She was elected to the Lok Sabha and became a minister in the Congress-led coalition. Her husband D. Venkateswara Rao also is a Congress leader and member of the Andhra Pradesh assembly.

Rich tributes were paid across the state to NTR, who had created a record of sorts by coming to power within nine months after forming the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982. Formed on the slogan of self-respect of Telugu people, the TDP ended the virtual monopoly of the Congress party in state politics.

The thespian, who acted in more than 250 films and was worshipped by many in the villages, became hugely popular with his policies like Rs.2 a kg rice and total prohibition.

NTR returned to power in 1994 with a landslide victory, but was unseated by his son-in-law N. Chandrababu Naidu in August 1995. The TDP founder, who had accused Naidu of backstabbing him, died of cardiac arrest in January 1996.

On Friday, Naidu and NTR's other family members paid tributes to the leader at NTR Ghat on the banks of Hussainsagar Lake here. Naidu, who heads the TDP, was accompanied by his wife Bhuwaneswari when he went to offer floral tributes at NTR Ghat. 'NTR will forever remain in the hearts of the poor,' said Naidu, recalling his services to people, especially the backward classes.

NTR's second wife Lakshmi Parvati, who went into political oblivion after his death, also offered tributes to the late leader.

NTR's sons, including actors Balakrishna and Harikrishna, and grandson and popular actor Junior NTR also paid tributes at NTR Ghat. A prayer meeting was held on the occasion.

Eminent Telugu film actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao paid rich tributes to NTR and said his contributions to the film industry would always be remembered.

Jagapathi Babu: 'Bhoomika Is Soft and Anushka is Hot'

Jagapathi Babu has given an exclusive interview and shared his views on the upcoming movie 'Swagatham' and his future projects.

Bhoomika and Anushka in 'Swagatham':
"It's a family movie in the genre of Santhosham and Mavi Chiguru. Bhoomika plays the role of a 'Wedding Planner' running a marriage bureau. As the role requires softness, Bhoomika was picked. Anushka plays the character of a US settled 'Event Manager'. As the role needs hot appeal, activeness and speed, Anushka proved to be right choice. I play the role of a businessman in Hyderabad with good humor in characterization".

It's Coincidental:
"People ask me if I intentionally show difference in the genre of characters I choose. I play an action role, a family oriented role and immediately switch over to a supporting hero. It's all happening coincidentally. I feel I have to do all sorts of roles being an actor. I like to do everything. I listen to various stories and pick up the best. Swagatham is one such thing".

Dasarath On Swagatham:
"Dasarath did a wonderful job on Swagatham. He proved his mettle with Santhosham and then made two different genres of films. But those films didn't meet the expectations. Hence he came back to his familiar style to make 'Swagatham'. He proves his mettle once again. It's a sort of good husband's role for me after a long gap."

About Krishna Vamshi:
"Krishna Vamshi directed a song in the film at Humpi. That was shot on Anushka and me. He is known for his sensuous touch in direction. And he filled the song with lot of sensuous things".

Jagapathi Babu as Producer:
"Major part of the film was shot in USA at New York and New Jersey. I liked the story a lot and hence stood as producer. Many producers liked the story but stepped back due to the heavy budget involved in it. I'm fortunate for being the producer of the movie as the project is very promising. My friends are exhibiting the movie in USA on behalf of me".

About Film Reviews:
"Reviewing films is very responsible job. Many websites are taking active part in that aspect. Reviews would certainly show impact on movies. It's not true that every review in every small website would show impact. But reviews in popular websites would certainly show the affect on the collections of the film".
