Balakrishna silent on Chiranjeevi’s political entry?

Nandamuri Balakrishna is presently silent on Chiranjeevi’s political entry. It is reported that Balakrishna does not want to comment on the Megastars political entry and has been warned to remain silent, by his brother in law Chandrababu Naidu.

Balaya both wants to disclose his entry into politics and adds that the time will answer for this question. Keeping aside this and talking about his professional career of acting, his latest film which was released on the sakranthi day was a big flop at the box office. It is also reported that the director YVS is hiding from the distributors of this movie as they have received a huge loss from Okamaggadu. One of them also said that, they were not at all willing to purchase the movie rights of Okamaggadu, but YVS and Balakrishna convinced them that this movie is going to be a hit, which later proved to be wrong. But still the producers and directors are thronging the house of Balakrishna and there is a buzz that Balaya will only act in the films this year and will quit the film industry from next year as he is about to take a political leap in coming elections. His present film ‘Pandurangadu’ is almost finished its shooting schedule. The next film will be under Gunashekar’ direction and is titled as “Sadhu”. Rajamouli and B.Gopal are very eagerly waiting for their chance to direct Balakrishna.

jalsa release on 2nd April with 1000 screens

Though the news about the postponement of Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s most awaited film ‘Jalsa’ directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Allu Aravind on the banner of Gita Arts, with Ileana in the female lead came as a blow to his fans, the film unit had announced that ‘Jalsa’ is slated for release on April 2, as the censor was completed today (27th March).

Unlike any other films not only in Pawan Kalyan’s career, but also any other Telugu hero, ‘Jalsa’ is hitting the screen with 400+ prints in over 1,000 theatres across the Globe. Already the audio of the film remained a chartbuster proving that ‘Jalsa’ would be a bigger hit than ‘Khushi’ the blockbuster in Pawan Kalyan’s career.

Let us wait for a week’s time and not only the youth but all the audiences would make ‘Jalsa’ by watching the movie.

I am the glam queen: Simran

A decade ago she was every cinegoer's dream. Simran was an actress who performed any role with elan. And when she danced, she surprised all. At the peak of her career, she gave up everything and settled down giving all her time to her family.

Now that her son is grown up and she has ample time on her hands, Simran returns to the glitz and the glamour... With two films already released, let's see what the actress has to say about her comeback...

You still look very glamorous! How do you manage it?
Thank you for your appreciation. Glamour or beauty comes from happiness. I am happy with motherhood. And I take life positively. My life is tension free.

You had acted with top heroes like Chiranjeevi, Kamal, NBK, Nag, Venky etc. What made you accept a film opposite a comedian (John Apprao 40 plus).
The script was interesting and so I accepted it. I don't think too much about star value. For me, story is important. Nothing else matters.

Did you miss the arc lights after your marriage!
No. It was my personal choice not to act in films until my son turns two. I wanted to enjoy a peaceful marital life, hence I stayed away from acting.

How do you manage career and motherhood, as acting in films takes long hours from home?
I have planned it all. I made my comeback after a lot of thought. My son is my everything. And I know how to handle the pressures of my profession and my son's demands.

Will you continue to play glam roles like you did earlier?
Why not? I am the glam queen, as the media reports (laughs). I don`t mind playing glam roles. And I know where to draw the line.

What are the differences you see in Tollywood compared to the time when you made debut a decade ago?
Young filmmakers are more disciplined and have better understanding of film making. Earlier, films were completely entertainment driven and nothing else. Today, they write scripts that accommodate comedian Krishna Baghavan and me in the lead role. Film making here has become more stylish.

In retrospect, which of your films do you like the most?
It is a tough task. In Telugu, I think Narasinhanaidu, Nuvvu Vastavani and Kalisundam Raa are memorable movies. In Tamil, Vaali and Kannatthil Muthamittal are my personal favourites.

Who do you think is the best among the current heroines?
Trisha, Nayanathara and Shriya are a doing great job.

jalsa advance booking hungama all over state

Vijayawada: It is increasingly becoming tough for the leaders particularly from the ruling Congress to 'contain' the fans of matinee idol Chiranjeevi ever since reports on his likely entry into the politics hit the headlines.

In a fresh bid to keep Chiranjeevi fans cheering, the Congress leaders are vying with each other to take lease of the theaters where the Pavan Kalyan-starrer 'Jalsa' would be released. "It is a new trend. Earlier, they used to take tickets in large scale for a show or two. But blocking the entire theatre for a week is surprising," admitted an exhibitor Venkateswara Rao.

Vijayawada east legislator Vangaveeti Radhakrisha reportedly blocked the tickets in Sailaja theatre completely for one week and Kankipadu legislator Devineni Nehru is also said to be negotiating with the exhibitors. Sources said Nehru's son is leading a fan club of Chiranjeevi with a support base of a few hundred youth in the city. Interestingly, the pressure on the TDP leaders is also mounting. "The youth are demanding that they should get some tickets at any cost. With theatres are blocked by ruling party leaders, it might be difficult for us to get some tickets. So, we too might have to block a theatre or two," admitted a TDP leader.

The film produced by Allu Aravind is scheduled to be released on April 2 in about 15 theatres in the city. Interestingly, the fight in Guntur, appears to be more with almost all the leaders entering into agreements with the producer straightaway.

According to sources, Allu Aravind, who himself manages Krishnamahal theatre, has leased out it to an enthusiastic industrialist Tulasi Ramachandra Prabhu. Prabhu's son is aspiring to jump into politics once Chiranjevvi launches the party. "He is said to have paid Rs 7 lakh to the producer to block tickets for all shows for one week," a Chiranjeevi fan said. Guntur II legislator T Venkata Rao booked Naaz theatre for the first week, while Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao's family took another theatre Hariharamahal into their fold with a sole aim of keep the Chiranjeevi fans happy.

Mayor Kanna Nagaraju, entered the fray in the final moments and has started negotiating with the distributors of the Swamy theatre. "It is a clever ploy by the producer to encash his brother-in-law's craze to make his investment safe," observed a former censor board member. Normally, the producers would not interfere once the rights of distribution had been sold out. However, in the case of 'Jalsa', Aravind is reportedly directly dealing with the leaders even after giving away the rights.

There after, he may work for SS Rajamouli’s film. But Rajamouli is busy with Ramcharan’s film right now. After this film, Rajamouli will do a film for producers Dhanaiah.

Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Varma has narrated a story to Balakrishna and Balakrishna said to have liked the story and accepted to that film. SS Rajamouli has to direct the film. So Rajamouli & Balakrishna’s are likely to work together in the next year.

Karunanidhi-Jaya in Kamal’s Dasavatharam

It is not a surprise that Kamal Hassan will always have something new and unique in his films. But this time he seems to have pulled out a casting coup of sorts, even if they were visually manipulated. In his latest film Dasavatharam Kamal will be playing the role of a scientist who gets honored by the Tamilnadu state government for his achievements in the scientific field. To get the scene to be more authentic Kamal sought the permission of TN chief minister Karunanidhi, so that Kamal can use the chief’s visually recreated image for one of the film’s scenes. To top that Kamal is also rumored to be showing Jayalalitha in the same scene. So if everything turns out well we will get to the political arch rivals share the same screen space.
