This summer is very special for Trisha. Three of her big films are going to be released in Tamil and Telugu this summer.

Bujjigadu - Made in Chennai, directed by Puri Jagannath is all set to release for this summer (tentative date is on May 16). She is sharing the screen with Prabhas for the third time in this film.
Her Tamil film Kuruvi directed by Dharani, where she acts with Vijay, is her first release (in Tamil) this summer. It all set for worldwide release on May 1 and distributors have already purchased it at a whopping amount. One more Tamil film Abhiyum Naanum will be released in mid-May. She plays the protagonist and Prakash Raj appears as her father in this film. She has lots of hopes on this heroine-centric film.
Interestingly her Telugu film Bujjigadu too has Chennai as the backdrop and one can expect that this film gets huge response in Chennai! On a whole it is triple treat for Trisha fans this summer.

Poonam Bajwa in Parugu.

Poonam Bajwa, the Puna based girl began her Tollywood career with the film Modhati Cinema of director Kuchipudi Venkat and hero Navadeep. But that film was a disappointment to all the team.

Again she got the chance to act opposite Nag in Boss. But that film failed to get crowds at the box office. This entire episode made her career dim. She couldn't find a film in Telugu.

Now she is playing a very vital role in Allu Arjun's film Parugu- it is not second heroine- then what- it is suspense till the film released.

Parugu- will it reflect Srija & Sirish love story?

Parugu- the film of Allu Arjun is all set hit the screens on 1st May and the story line in the whispers is that the story might be the similar to that of Megastar's daughter Srija & Sirish love marriage episode.

Chiru's daughter episode eloped with her boyfriend and got married to him secretly. It was a big news for the print and electronic media for a month, as Srija being the daughter of a big celebrity.

Now the director is going to show the great bond between the daughter (Sheela) and her father (Prakashraj) and how the father broken down when his lovely daughter runs away from the house with her lover.

South is all for fuller figures, while size zero has caught Bollywood’s fancy...

The scene is changing down South. Size zero is also pretty cool. It all depends on what suits an individual. Those who lead a life under the arclights, need to be conscious of how they look, without looking unhealthy that is.

Having delivered a couple of hits down South, you are all set to climb the Bollywood ladder. How different are the two industries?

Is there supposed to be any difference in the first place? End of the day, what these industries churn out is Indian cinema. Maybe the flavour changes a little with the variation in language, but there isn’t any major difference as such.

How was the experience of shooting for Deepa Mehta’s What’s Cooking?

This is the first time that I’m working with Deepa Mehta and all I can tell you is that we had a blast on the sets. Before every scene, the actors would also be asked to improvise beyond the scene and that helped us go the extra mile. My co-star, Seema Biswas, was also inspiring, to say the least.

How did the Hollywood film, The Other Side Of The Line happen?

It’s a simple story — director Ashok Amritraj had seen Sivaji: The Boss and gave me the script of his film to read. I liked it and took it up. We are through with the shooting and here too, I must mention, I had a great team to work with. In fact, I wouldn’t mind more such Hollywood projects coming my way.

If there’s a remake of Sivaji in Bollywood, who do you think would aptly play the lead?

Me, of course!

No, we meant the protagonist...

Oh, okay. Well, the movie is already getting dubbed in Hindi, why break my head over it?

Out-and-out commercial films like Ek, or parallel cinema like What’s Cooking — take your pick.

Ek is a commercial venture no doubt, but it wouldn’t be a good idea to categorise What’s Cooking, which is an entertaining flick with a strong message. In fact, I would like to dabble with both genres.

You are considered a Southern hottie, would you be able to live up to your hot quotient in the Mumbai tinselville?

This is something I really wouldn’t know. Let time decide.

Do you see competition in B-town?

I’m not here to compete. While Bollywood actors are flaunting their love bites err relationships, those from South are known to be more conservative‘Traditional’ would be a better word to use in this context. And I see no harm in guarding one’s private life. In fact, I wouldn’t like to flaunt my man, if ever I fall in love.

What does ‘if’ stand for?

That I’m single and ready to mingle.

Could you have resolved the Tirumala incident, where you slapped an errant fan, with Gandhigiri?

Well, there’s nothing that cannot be resolved with Gandhigiri. But what’s the harm in standing up for your rights?

The man was constantly shooting lewd comments at me and I couldn’t have tolerated more. I don’t even think that I went overboard.

The audio release of Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam this evening in Chennai is probably the biggest South Indian Film Indutsry pre-release extravaganza that anyone will ever
witness. Among the many luminaries who will be present, the star is undoubtedly Jackie Chan who arrived last night in the city at around 10 pm, and checked in at the Taj Coramandel. Awaiting him at the Chennai airport were throngs of fans to get a glimpse of this international star. Chan looked visibly impressed and happy at the crowd turn out. This afternoon he will meet the press.

The audio will be released simultaneously in the USA as well. Narmadha media has exclusive rights of the audio in partnership with Sony music. The CD will be available at select stores in Bay Area, Chicago, New Jersey and other major cities in US. The audio release function is highly anticipated not only because this is Kamal’s grand opus but also because of the presence of a Hollywood star such as Jackie Chan gracing the occasion. There was talk recently that the film’s release could once again be delayed, but the latest is that the film will release in May.

Nayanatara removed as Chennai Super Kings ambassador??

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Nayanatara is no more the brand ambassador of Chennai Super Kings as she was not able to keep up with the commitment of making an appearance in all the seven CSK matches which were to be held in Chennai. Nayan has been not keeping well and was not able to attend the previous match of Chennai Super Kings match with Mumbai.

The buzz is that the team has now decided to go with a single ambassador, Vijay and it is also decided that Dhoni and Vijay only will make the appearance in the promotional Video of the team.

Is Pawan disappointed his fans?
Even after the stupendous success of Jalsa power star Pawan Kalyan has so far not opened his mouth. He has not uttered even a single word. His fans are very disappointed over his attitude and his silence.

After coming back from his one week holiday in London, Pawan Kalyan immersed himself completely with work on his next film 'Puli'. SJ Suryah of Khushi fame is the director. The film will hit the floors in May.

Maa Ayana Chanti Pilladu music launched

Music of the film Maa Ayana Chanti Pilladu was released on Monday night at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad. Made on Lucky Media Banner, the film is produced by Bekkam Venugopal and direction is by Raja Vannemreddy. Sivaji, Meera Jasmine and Sangeetha are playing the lead roles.

Bhumika Chawla, accompanied by her hubby Bharath Takur, attended the function as chief guest and released the audio and presented the cassettes to the guests, including Tammareddy Bharadwaja, SV Krishna Reddy, Neelakanta, Harish, Achireddy, Soma Vijayaprakash, MM Srilekha (Music director), Bhaskarabatla Ravi Kumar (lyricist) and others.

Tammareddy Bharadwaja said: "In fact, hero Sivaji has a very gentle heart, with lots of innocence. He always seeks the best for others. So far, he has not received any blockbuster worth his performance and hard work. I am sure, this film would get him the much-required break."

Director Raja Vannemreddy said: "Actually, I saw this film's original Tamil film. I instantly wanted to remake it in Telugu, but couldn't due to huge price for remake rights. After several months, Sivaji gave a CD and asked me to watch, so that it could be remade into Telugu. When I started watching the film, it was nothing but the movie which I wanted to do. It was luck."

Hero Sivaji said: "This is my third film with Lucky Media. I have done my best. The guests who have come here are my real well-wishers." MM Srilekha said: "Sivaji took a lot of interest for getting superb audio for this film. There is a remix song in the film, which we hope will be a highlight."

Sreesanth in Telugu film?

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
If Bollywood can get its manicured fingers into cricket, why should not a cricketer drop bat and ball to grab a role in films?

It’s been done before, of course, with disastrous consequences. But who’s to tell that to S Sreesanth, the angry young man of cricket, who has been pretty vocal about his route to stardom via the silver screen?

According to a source, Sreesanth is about to sign a film. The buzz is that he will be playing the lead in a Telugu project (eat your heart out, Bollywood) with four actresses in it, including a top South Indian star. The story is about a cricketer who turns into a star.

The angry young man of cricket, Sreesanth, for whom this script might have been written, should be most comfortable with his debut. The producer has asked the Team India paceman, who is also part of the Preity Zinta’s Mohali team, for just 15 days to shoot his scenes. Sreesanth’s response is awaited.

The star player, notorious for doing a jig on the field each time he claims a wicket, should be a treat to watch on screen. According to the source, the news of the Telugu film was broken by Sreesanth himself. “He drove his new SUV onto the sets of an ad film that M S Dhoni and Ishant Sharma were shooting and took his teammates for a long drive. When they got back, Sreesanth was heard telling them how excited he is about the film. He also told them that he would be signing the film very soon,” added the source.

its Bommarillu vs Aduvari matalaku arthale veru !

There is an interesting battle going on at Tamil Box Office now. It is between the Tamil remakes of two great Telugu movies. The commercial blockbuster N Baskar's Bommarilu was remade in Tamil with Jayam Ravi - Genelia playing lead roles as Santhosh Subramaniyam and it is doing well in all the centers of the state - especially in big centers like Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. Jayam Ravi – Genelia's onscreen chemistry is good. Young people have fallen in love with their pairing.

On other hand, Dhanush - Nayantara starrer Yaradi Nee Mohini which is remake of Venkatesh's Adavari Matalaki Arthalu Verule is also doing very well business in B and C centers. It seems that Santhosh Subramanyam has slightly over edged the Dhanush starrer at the end of this week. Let's hope there will be no major changes in the status of these movies till May 1st. Vijay's big summer release Kuruvi hits the screens on the day and one can be sure that the film will take over the Box Office from day 1.

Chiranjeevi’s aide calls on leaders of Left parties

HYDERABAD: The much-hyped proposal of Chiranjeevi to float a political party became a talking point yet again on Tuesday when a close aide of the matinee idol held discussions with leaders of the Left parties.

Although Chiranjeevi himself has not made his political intentions public, P. Mitra, a gastroenterologist and family friend of the megastar, was in the spotlight after he met CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu on Tuesday and CPI secretary K. Narayana on Monday night.

Dr. Mitra visited M.B. Bhavan, the CPI (M) State headquarters, to enquire about the health of Mr. Raghavulu who was undergoing treatment for cervical problem.

“He is an old friend and we discussed several things, including political situation,” Mr. Raghavulu said about their half-hour long meeting. There was, however, no discussion about the proposed political party by Mr. Chiranjeevi as the latter was yet to firm up his plans, he added.

Mr. Raghavulu said that the CPI (M) would think about an alliance only after the party was launched and its policies announced.

“We are not prepared to waste our time on discussing hypothetical issues. Let him (Chiranjeevi) announce the party,” he said, adding the party favoured entry of more parties with people-centred policies into the political spectrum.

Dr. Mitra informed the CPI leader that the film star was determined to float the party, but had not fixed a date for its launch.

Like his Marxist counterpart, Dr. Narayana too said the CPI would announce its stand on the new party based on its policies.
