Manchu Manoj Kumar's film Nenu Meeku Telusa has almost completed its shooting part. The film's talkie part has been finished. Currently, action stuns are being shot by Hollywood technicians at Annapoorna seven Acres.

Music rights of 'Kinng' sold at Rs. 13.5 crores

In what must have been surely a record making or breaking deal the music rights of Akshay Kumar’s next big thing on screen-Singh is Kinng was bought for a whopping Rs.13.5 crores. This eye-popping rate was offered by Times Music.

Now where does this put Hindi film music? Industry records say that even last year’s biggie Om Shanthi Om’s music was sold for only 7 crore, an amount that looks small now when compared to Singh is Kinng. We don’t know why Times was ready to offer such a price, but a good guess is that Akshay Kumar’s infallible status at the box office was an inspiration.

Forget the latest Tashan, Akshay has hardly put a foot wrong in Bollywood for the past couple of years. There is also the quality of the music that we must consider. The rights holders would have heard the songs and must have been very impressed for them to put so much at stake. The man behind the music is Pritam, the most consistent winner in Bollywood these days. Singh is Kinng is directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.

Aswini dutt saving money for kantri

The much awaited 'Kantri' is set to release on 7th of May. But you just look at the campaigning. So far nothing is started.

There is no pre-release hype at all. Producer Aswhini Duutt is not showing any inclination to do heavy publicity for the film since the beginning. Now the publicity work is going to be carried away by NTR fans to the delight of Ashwini Dutt. It is said that fans and TDP flag bearers are keen to use the film 'Kantri' for the campaigning of TDP.

Hence fans and TDP gang are taking it a prestige issue to make the film a hit. Hence they are all going to start campaigning in a couple of days. That way with the artificial demand the film bagged, Ashwini Dutt can save his publicity-money now.

Puri Jagannath's Tamil Desire

Is Puri Jagannath now interested in making films in Tamil? It seems likely as Puri has given some indications with his acts in the recent past. Puri organized the audio launch function of the Trisha and Prabhas starrer 'Bujjigadu made in Chennai' at Andhra club in Chennai.

None other than the Tamil superstar Rajnikanth graced the function and unveiled the audio. Rajni also praised Puri sky high. He said that Puri is one of the best young directors in the industry today. Puri launched the son of Chiranjeevi into films and also Kannada Rajkumar's son Puneet.

Rajni said that if only he had a son, he would have requested Puri to launch him in films. This high praise naturally drew the attention of many producers in Kollywood. Some are now keen to approach Puri to direct a film for them in Tamil. Tollywood's loss may be Kollywood's gain.

No Theaters for big films?

Three big films are releasing in this hot summer. Beginning with Parugu of Bunny on 1st May, NTR’s Kantri is releasing on 7th May , Prabhas Poori’s Bujjigadu is scheduled for 16th May release and NBK’s Pandurangadu is releasing on 28th May.

With the shortage of theatres, Arvind is forced to withdraw Jalsa from some theatre, to accommodate his son Bunny’s Parugu. But Pawan Fans are not happy with this situation.

Meanwhile, KS Rama Rao has already booked the theatres for his Bijjigadu. And it is also heard that Aswini Dutt is facing tuff time for the theatres.

If this is the position of big films, where are the theaters for small films?

Parugu is developed for NTR jr

In the 24 frames interview with DIL Raju. he was saying the script was narrated by Bhaskar before Bommarillu keeping NTR in mind but the second half was not developed by that time. NTR after hearing 1st half was very much excited (Raju says). But due to certain reasons, the movie with NTR never took off. Then the story was developed by Bhaskar (after bommarillu hit). It went into the hands of Alu arjun

parugu review its chiranjeevi daughter story

Parugu Movie Review
Cast: Allu Arjun, Prakash Raj, Sheela, Jayasudha (guest role), Poonam Bajwa (guest role), Sunil and many others.

Banner: Sri Venkateswara Creations

Music: Mani Sharma

Producer: Raju

Story, Screenplay & Direction: Bhaskar

Tagline: Parugu - run away as fast as possible

Strengths: Allu Arjun and Prakash Raj

Weaknesses: Weak story and dragging screenplay

Must see scenes:

1. All the comedy scenes

2. Prakash Raj drunken scene with Allu Arjun expressing his agony for his eloped daughter

Analysis: Parugu movie is the second movie for Bhaskar after Bommarillu and as the trend follows it will not be a phenomenol hit (second movie of most of the recent directors is not a hit). It is all about how a father feels when his daughter elopes with her lover. Bhaskar showed the father’s love from son’s point of view in Bommarillu where as he showed father’s love from the father’s point of view in Parugu.

Bhaskar wanted to prove that he is not wrong in both the movies. One can find the complete reverse side of Bommariilu movie. I agree that Parugu is a complete different story but it lags the effective on-screen discription ie screenplay. The movie dragged a lot in both first half as well as the second half.
Note: After seeing Parugu movie, one can easily relate it to the recent mis-hap which shook entire Chiranjeevi family. This obvious relation will be because it has Allu Arjun in it who comes from the same family. Seeing this movie, one will surely feel the pain and agony what Chiranjeevi felt when his daughter went away. The audience will surely sympathasize Chiranjeevi after watching Parugu movie. (is this one kind of political entry stunt by Chiranjeevi ???? Who Knows….)

Performances: Allu Arjun is as usual cool in this movie too. His action and his dance sequences doesn’t show much difference from his earlier movies like Happy, Arya and Bunny.

Heroine Sheela is sweet and beautiful as a village girl. Poonam Bajwa who did a guest performance in Parugu has nothing to mention about. Jayasudha as Allu Arjun’s mother has no role to perform.

Special mention about Prakash Raj should be done here. He, as an agonizing father gave splendid performance. He stole the entire show in the movie.

Sunil and his friends are good and gave rib-tickling comedy with proper timing and proper punch dialogues.

Music by Mani Sharma is average. Even the picturization of these songs couldn’t add much to the music.

Story by Bhaskar is different and good. It highlighted the recent bad incident which took place in Megastar family. But this will not help much to the success of the movie because the screen play is not upto the mark. The entire movie dragged. The viewer gets bored after certain point of time.

Direction, again by Bhaskar is good but is not highlighted because of the bad screenplay.

Story: Krishna (Allu Arjun) is a happy go lucky guy who gets trapped in the family of Prakash Raj who is searching for the latter’s eloped first daughter Subba Lakshmi (Poonam Bajwa). In the mean time Krishna falls in love with Prakash Raj second daughter Meena (Sheela) and plans to elope with her. After seeing the agony and pain of an eloped daughter’s father, Allu Arjun decides to leave Meena. What happens next should be seen on big screen only.
