Nuvve Kavali fame Richa returns to Tollywood

It’s literally Inkosari (once again) for Richa Pallod, who’s back to T-town to try out a “a refreshing film”. The vivacious actor, who had a dream debut Nuvve Kavali, had found the going tough in formula-ridden Tollyland. “I thought acting skills alone were important but I realised I was short on PR and didn’t promote myself properly,” she rues. However, she nurses no regrets since she was happy doing ‘roles with substance’ and never aspired to be a ‘glam prop’. The actress moved to Tamil films in search of meaningul roles, but her stint there was “nothing extraordinary”.

Her fascination for significant roles has restricted her south career to just 20-odd films in a decade-old career. “I cannot relate to mindless roles even today,” she avers, citing an example of her dream Malayalam debut film Daddy Cool. “It was challenging to play a young wife to ace actor Mammootty. My efforts won critical acclaim and the film was a commercial success too,” she avers. When quizzed about her Bollywood ventures, Richa, a child artiste in films like Lamhe and Pardes, says, “I did films like Agnipankh, Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahhe but I am waiting for an exciting offer. I am happy that Bollywood is coming up with good films like Wake up Sid and I can fit into the scheme of new generation filmmakers,” she declares.

The Mumbaikar, who had a dream run as a model with more than 200-odd endorsements to her credit, says she is yet to find Mr. Right. “I haven’t found my ideal match, but cupid can strike any moment,” she says. The girl with a mind of her own, leads a disciplined life and claims that her soft, sweet, and bubbly onscreen image is closer to her real self.
